One of the easiest websites to remember has to be ICanRead.org and it belongs to a local non-profit helping adults improve their literacy. Today, Jane Seiss, the Executive Director of the Anne Arundel County Literacy Council joins us to to explain it all.
Imagine a world where you could not read! Job applications, medical instructions, road signs, books, tests, the list goes on. In that world, to coin a cliché, "it's all Greek to you." And there are many reasons why someone cannot read or be an emerging reader.
Jane and her small army of volunteer tutors invade our libraries and jails to make sure as many adults as possible can discover the joy (and necessity) of reading. And find out how you can join in the effoert!

Chris Barber waas on the road to be a homicide detective and took a detour and was a car theft investigator. When he saw how technology was advancing about 20 years ago, he had an idea-- and Cheaper Than A Geek was born. Well, after a battle with Best Buy!
Today we talk with Chris about how it all started and what specifically he and his team do. Spoiler: they don't do it all,but if they don't, they know a guy! We spent a lot of time discussing scams and cyber threats that are increasing daily and putting you at risk. Yes, even if you are someone pecking away and playing Candy Crush at home, you are vulnerable.
Cheaper Than A Geek helped me out a few months back with a great referral, and that is what the business is built upon--fantastic customer service. And that service has earned Cheaper Than A Geek several awards!
