Eyes And Teeth

In 2002 I started a 6 month contract on a cruise ship around the Mediterranean and Baltics and for 3 of those months a Comic named Micky Zany joined Nina & I and it turned into the funniest and most enjoyable contract at sea I've ever had. Friends to this day, we laugh and always revert back to that cruise. In this edition Micky & I talk about his inspirations, audiences, venues and love for Golf.
Hear about Norman Wisdom, Prof Stephen Hawking, Billy Connolly and many more as we enter the Zany World of Micky...

Jeff Stevenson has fulfilled a packed career in Comedy but he's just getting started having recently winning "Best Actor" in a recent 2020 film he made during Lockdown.
Here we talk about the movie Bugsy Malone, Only Fools and Horses, Cruises, Stand Up, Ventriloquists, Alan King, Des O Connor, Freddie Starr and much more...

In my Bubble this edition is one of the best Comic deliverers on the circuit and one of the nicest guys out there.
He has such a pleasant way about him on and off stage. I was in my early 20's when we first worked together and he really made me feel like I was one of the team when I was trying to find my way at the start of my professional career. You never those who are good to you.

Garry Bushell is an incredibly busy and creative man, over the last 40 years he has been extremely well known for his writing and reviewing TV for National Newspapers and in a way only he can. He is an author, a frontman of a band and founder of a few bands including the current 'Gonads'. With a passion for Comedians and Variety Garry is and has for many years been a supporter of the Benny Hill tribute statue for which we are still willing on to honour Benny in Southampton.

In the return to Eyes and Teeth, we start with a Halloween Special and what perfect way to pay tribute to the Spooky World of Dolls, Monsters, Rock, Prank Shows and Halloween by talking with the Unique Ross Lee.

Ross has presented on Nickelodeon Children's TV, performed TV Pranks, guested on many TV Shows in disguise or as his Jelly self in his own bag of bones. Confused? Well listen in and enjoy another Season of Comedy & Chat with the dummyless Ventriloquist Steve Hewlett.

Star of Television, Theatre, pantomime, books and an all round wonderful human being Jimmy Cricket, tells me about his favourite ventriloquists, about his work and why he loves doing what he does. His unique look of his wellie boots and  signature hat has him instantly recognisable to millions and even during a Pandemic he goes on entertaining .
In the 1980's many impressionists took Mr Cricket off with his catchphrases of "come closer" "there's more" & "a letter from my mammy" and you can book to see his upcoming tours as he is always on the road sharing laughter and warmth.
Enjoy the stories of Jimmy Cricket

Hilary O Neil has been in our business of lovely show throughout it's best of years, whether on TV, in pantomime, musicals, plays, summer seasons working with "everyone" which is why Hils is known and loved by so many. Wherever Hilary goes there is laughter and happiness and we hear how Ken Dodd has paid it forward, Hilary has paid it forward and it's down to these wonderful people that I am happy to do the same.
Hilary's career is a wonderful story and lesson for many starting out, we can learn so much by listening to these wonderful stories as well as having a laugh along the way.
Enjoy this penultimate edition as the end of Season One comes to a close x

Working Cruise Ships for me was exciting not knowing who i was going to be working with that contract and when I first met and watched Liverpool Comic John Martin on a ship I was blown away by his knowledge of every word and names he was working with in the crowd. He is a brilliant Comedian and Comedy Writer and Author but his books are not comedy related... find out more when I talk to John Martin

Neil Warner and I go back to the year after I turned pro. He was an entertainments manager in a Holiday Centre in Weymouth in 1998 and have been mates ever since. Neil has been a Compere, Festival Show Reviewer, Stand Up, Comedy Vocalist, Pantomime Character, he has a brilliant style in his comic delivery and has a great vocal too always providing the audience with laughter and poignant moments in song.

In this PodChat we reminisce about our nights out at Edinburgh, or meeting Lee Evans and watching acts in those holiday parks in the 1990's, but listen out for Neil's experience meeting Englebert Humperdink, it's a classic moment in showbusiness history...

Comedy Ventriloquist Steve Hewlett chats on this edition to Britain's Got Talent 2020 Finalist & Funnyman Steve Royle. Steve is a True Pro of Showbusiness, he knows his Comedy, his art, his radio and he knows behind the scenes of Television but 2020 will see Steve grace the millions of BGT fans when he steps into the Finals as Judges favourite.
It's always a pleasure working with and talking to Steve for his knowledge and also for the fact he's a very hard working and lovely guy.
Enjoy this episode of Eyes & Teeth.
