Daniel Dean has pizzazz, he’s a real entertainer and we got to know each other on a UK Pantomime Tour, I was Aladdin / Wishee-Washee in one there was a budget and Daniel was the Genie and he painted himself blue everyday for the part. The days of going to Wetherspoons with a Smurf will live for me forever. We shared digs too and when his beloved poodle WANDA was still with us that little pooch was adorable and kept my bed warm, especially one night when I woke up and realised it had piddled at the bottom of my bed.

Martin Daniels Stand Up Comedian, TV Presenter, Writer, Magician has been a success in all these areas and continues to do what he does so well around the world.

His start in the business came in the shape of the world-famous Magician Paul Daniels a superstar in the world of Television. Paul gave Martin that encouragement he didn’t really need as magic was in DNA. Martin talks about working on his father's television shows. His subsequent television roles include presenting two series of Game for a Laugh and Lingo.
He also appeared in five series of The Les Dennis Laughter Show. He has performed five times on the Children's Royal Variety Show

Martin Daniels has a great story not just of his father, but his own story of being a father himself and its not easy with the challenges thrown at parents and entertainers and we have a mutual respect for the Transplant Games

He is one of the loveliest of humans in our business and it’s the reason I love doing these podcasts catching up with people I have missed and love to work with or watch work from the wings.

As well as directing & producing, Stuart makes puppets and builds scenery, props and illusions. Stuart now runs Magic Light Productions along with Libby Edwards, producing pantomimes and family shows across the UK. Michael is a sought-after Corporate Magician/Illusionist who has lived and breathed magic. He knows the art inside out upside down, he knows what’s behind the mirrors and in the boxes, where the cards are and what's going to get that reaction of amazement from the audience. 

There are some heart warming and magical stories in this episode and again it shows how people in this business are good to the upcoming generation, we pay it forward, I mean I’m in my late 20’s, I mean early 30’s ok mid 40’s but I’ve already passed advice and lessons to over 10/15 young ventriloquist wannabees and I do that in a heartbeat because no ventriloquist told me to go away… not to my face anyway. To me they were good people who could see the potential in that particular art could carry on if I pass on what I know.

And that’s what Paul Daniels, David Copperfield, Wayne Dobson have done, Wayne still dedicates his time in meeting young budding performers to pass on his wisdom and in this story today you will hear inspiring anecdotes.

Magical Richard Griffin was one of the great Dove illusionists out there, he gave Paul Daniels lessons init. He made Michael Jackson whoop whoop and supported some of the best in Cabaret in the 1990’s across the UK. I had the pleasure of working with Richard in a social club for a mutual agent in the late 1990’s and we then worked Cruise Ships together, Christmas Shows and Theatre Tours. 

We have become close and often get together my 2 daughters with his two sons to create havoc on the town of his hometown of Wisbech, the havoc comes from the parents not the kids.

We have laughed for over 15 years together although a seemingly shy guy, Richard is full of charisma, personality and performs a suave sophisticated magical show wherever he goes wowing not only Popstars and politicians but Royalty too.

His story of how he got into magic is poignant and no doubt hard for him to talk about but I thank him for his honesty and friendship in our chat on Eyes & Teeth A Touch of Magic

Miki Travis is one of the good guys in the business, he not only performs magic for children but he can do close up for adults, TV Warm Up, Stand Up, wearing smart get up, everything he does is up, within his age range as he mentions often. It was great to catch up and talk about gigs we’ve done together and hear about his early days right the way up to these strange days we’re all having. But We’ve all found our way through lockdowns and lack of stage work by re inventing ourselves and Miki and his lovely wife Deborah did just that.

We talk about Les Dawson, The Comedian’s Golfing Society, After dinners, heckling children, that’s the children heckling the act not the other way round but we also talk about our stage rules and etiquettes

This man has magical voices he’s a vocal illusionist and that’s how I get away with adding him to Season 10 A Touch of Magic.

Jon has grafted in Holiday Parks, on cruise ships, in pantomime and after his fantastic BGT appearance he then enjoyed the corporate market. We talk about Jon’s father who was also in showbusiness and a success on the circuit, Jon has always worked on new ideas and voices to stay fresh and move with the times hence his Ant & Dec impression he mastered especially for Saturday Primetime television. We also talk about his inspirations and passions and the time he was stranded on a cruise ship and forced to perform in a double act, all will be revealed when I talk to Jon Clegg
