Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli scored a perfectly-judged win at Spa after passing the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc in the closing stages - after making the pass, you could say, that he had been denied at Silverstone. Max Verstappen drove valiantly into P3 for Red Bull, despite a top speed disadvantage and numerous deployment issues - and he might have been P2 had not Leclerc's pit stop been "neutralised" by a brief virtual safety car period. George Russell, who did not complete lap one in the other Merc, has now been displaced in the World Championship points table by the driver with whom he clashed at Les Combes on the opening lap today - by his former team-mate, Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Peter in this video looks back at a race punctuated by seemingly random surges of power on the long Spa straights but which produced, nonetheless, some outstanding driving.
