We are continuing our mid-year discussions over summer land management and fall hunting prep!  This week, we are joined by our own Field Staffer Kim Sullivan.  Kim hunts and manages a couple different properties in Virginia, and is currently several seasons into her whitetail management plan.  Kim talks with us about what she does year in and year out for her whitetail population in an effort to grow bigger, better, healthier deer.  We discuss food plots, planting, stand set ups, tools and equipment, scouting techniques and more.  In recent seasons, Kim has really started to see her hard work and dedication pay off, and shares with us some memorable hunts and specific deer she has previously taken off of her properties.  We are excited to see what 2021 has in store for her!

We are in full pre-season prep mode!  Fall Obsession Marketing Manager Drew Tvrdik joins us this week to talk some whitetail land management, and more specifically, food plots.  Drew discusses what all he and his family are doing to best utilize their property in Minnesota, and their new found balance between food plots and CRP.  Drew covers specific crops they have planted, the advantages and tactics behind each, the challenges this year's drought has brought, and even more on stand setups and tactics.  Drew concludes with discussing his 2021 Draw Application results, and the many hunts he has planned for this fall.  This episode is packed with educational information any whitetail hunter would find useful!

Montana has brought us a lot of memories and experiences these past few years!  This spring, Pro Staffer Brendan Scott had the opportunity to go to big sky country on his first ever DIY bear hunt.  Brendan and company quickly found the circumstances may not be in their favor, and it didn't take them long to learn their first ever bear hunt would be a challenge.  Brendan shares with us the many things he learned with this being his first bear hunt, along with the gear he utilized, and more!  As always, when Brendan joins us we hear some very interesting stories, including the one from when this hunt took a literal "turn for the worse."

They survived.  After taking 7 bullets from two different firearms, the world class, mortally wounded alaskan brown bear finally fell just feet away from hunter Trevor Schneider and his sister, Tana.  But their adventure was far from over.  Now these two had to make it out.  Several miles into the Alaskan wilderness with a Boone & Crockett bear on the ground, the journey for these two getting back to camp was far from over.  Listen in as these two talk about the aftermath of their near-death hunting experience, and the many challenges they both overcame to make it home in one piece.  This is part two of this incredible story, so if you haven't yet listened to part 1 (Episode 63), go back and do that first!

What started as an already challenging hunt for Trevor Schneider and his sister Tana, quickly turned into a horrifying life or death situation with only seconds to spare!  Trevor and Tana have hunted together in Alaska many times.  This was Trevor's first hunt in pursuit of a brown bear, and the two of them ended up putting a challenging stalk on a world class boar.  After 4 shots with his rifle at 470 yards, Trevor's rifle jammed and things went down hill fast!  Listen in as Trevor and Tana share their incredible story, leading up to only a few feet of separation between them and a charging Boone & Crockett bear with only a single revolver in hand.
