Jesus freely gave himself for our good even though it cost him everything. Jesus did not have to exercise his "rights" because he knew that the glory of the father would be his great reward. We too can embrace this freedom. That is, in Christ, the father will provide everything we  we need and all that we think we missed out on by glorifying him in giving up our perceived rights.
