Interesting idiomatic phrases

Put the cart before the horse - Reverse the accepted or logical order of things. - eat dessert before the main course or decide what to wear before you've been invited to the party.

'upside down', 'topsy-turvy' and 'inside out'.

Get off scot free - completely free from obligation, harm, or penalty “The bank robbers got off scot free” - nothing to do with Scottish people. It comes from not paying taxes!

Take the Mickey - tease or make fun of (burlar) - Take the Mickey Bliss (Cockney rhyming slang - http://www.inglespodcast.com/2016/05/29/the-london-accent-and-cockney-rhyming-slang-airc105/   NB. This expression has no connection with Mickey Mouse!
