Vanessa Morris is the Communications Director of The Foundation United (formerly the Selah Way Foundation) a Global Anti-Sex Trafficking organization that provides the best practices and proven models to eradicate sex trafficking and sexual abuse here in the U.S. and around the world through creating lasting, systemic change in the key areas of Prevention, Protection and Provision.
Morris is a graduate of the University of South Florida and joined the organization in 2011 before the full fruition of The Foundation United came into its own in 2018. She was excited to be a part of building a global umbrella to fight sex trafficking and abuse. As the daughter of a survivor, she is passionate about eradicating this issue worldwide. She is passionate about using creative outlets to educate and empower the masses, especially the faith community, to take action, recognize the red flags, and give a voice to those who are not free to speak up for themselves... yet!
The CEO of The Foundation United, Elizabeth Melendez Fisher Good has written a book entitled, 'Groomed: Overcoming the Messages That Shaped Our Past and Limit Our Future'.
Although Human Trafficking Awareness month was January, that does not mean we need to stop talking about this extremely important topic and most importantly avoid becoming numb to hearing about it.
The Foundation United has created their SPEAK UP initiative and have ways to contact them in order to be heard about sexual abuse, sexual trafficking and sexual exploitation. They even have educational programs as well as courses for school districts to help administrators and teachers identify the issues that children may be facing within the classroom.
One thing Morris would like any victim to know is that they will be heard and they are a worthy human being.
'Groomed: Overcoming the Messages That Shaped Our Past and Limit Our Future' can be purchased through Amazon, Barnes & Noble as well as The Foundation United directly.

Catwoman uses all the tricks she's learned over the years to pull one over on Black Mask (Jonathan Banks) and Tobias Whale (Keith David) along with the help of Batwoman (Stephanie Beatriz) and a few other ladies that lurk in the shadows of Gotham City.
We had a chance to speak with Gillies about bringing this iconic character to life in this in carnation of Catwoman and what it was like to give a different spin on Batman's love interest over 80s since she was first brought into the comics.

'Black Adam' and 'Ramy' Co-Star Mo Amer Talks his latest Standup Special 'Mo Amer: Mohammed in Texas' streaming now on Netflix.
Palestinian-Muslim-American comedian Mohammed "Mo" Amer sat down with us to chat about his latest standup special 'Mo Amer: Mohammed in Texas' streaming now on Netflix.
Amer, who has been performing as a teenage since the mid-1990s talks about how he got sick twice, once given to him by comedy GOAT Dave Chappelle, honoring his father when returning to Palestine for the first time as an American citizen and hints at his upcoming series that he is currently filming in Houston, TX.
Mohammed has figured out the one way to united Middle Eastern Christians and Muslims with our mutual hatred of the bastardization of hummus in the Western World. Leave your bell peppers and carrots out of our dish! Also, stop making it have the consistency of paste instead of the creamy dip that it is you cretins!
Amer and I discuss that rise of Muslim comics in the West, who paved the way for him and the others that follow as well as our Texas vs. California rivalry...with a humorous slant of course.
The most difficult part of this conversation was trying to not give away any spoilers for his latest special, but this must watch comedy special is absolutely incredible, especially in the ability to curse between English and Arabic languages. He also demonstrates the lack of creativity there is in the naughty phrases used in the English speaking world.
Amer will be staring with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. long anticipated super villain film, 'Black Adam' and can currently be seen in the film 'Americanish'.

Fr. Dr. Maurice Nkem Emelu, Ph.D., Discusses Daily Advent Devotionals with 'An Encounter: A Daily Discovery in Divine Word, Volume 1.'
Fr. Dr. Maurice Nkem Emelu, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor of digital media and communication at John Carroll University discusses daily Advent devotional companion, 'An Encounter: A Daily Discovery in Divine Word, Volume 1.'
Originally from West Africa, Fr. Maurice Nkem Emelu, Ph.D. has written a companion guide for Catholic daily devotionals during the Advent Season as we lead into Christmas and the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
During these struggling times that the world has been facing the last two years, it was appropriate to speak with Fr. Maurice even for our secular audience that at least hope could be spread during this Advent Season.
Myself being the son of Eastern Orthodox Christian immigrants and Fr. Maurice being an immigrant himself have a different understanding of Christianity in the Old World in comparison to the New World where the lines of politics and religious are often blurred.
Through his latest book 'An Encounter: A Daily Discovery in Divine Word, Volume 1', Fr. Maurice takes us through daily reflections through the Roman Catholic prayers and helps us reflect on our lives in regards to the world around us.
From the day after Thanksgiving all the way through Christmas, the Western World is so engulfed in the perfect image of the holidays and finding the ideal hot ticket item gift that we do not stop to reflect on life, family (for quite a few of us) faith, hope and most importantly loving our neighbor.
This conversation about Advent with Fr. Maurice Nkem Emelu also helped me slow down during our conversation and pay attention to various details of his devotional companion guide.
Fr. Maurice also gives us and everyone a blessing at the end of the interview this Holiday season.

Nitu Chandra Stands Her Ground in 'Never Back Down: Revolt' Available on Blu-ray and Digital Now from Sony Home Entertainment.
Nitu Chandra may not be an American household name yet, but internationally, she is recognized as a Taekwondo Champion, one of the faces of the NBA in India and renowned for her musicality and acting abilities.
Now, Chandra is getting recognized in more western films like her turn as trafficked pitfighter Jitu in 'Never Back Down: Revolt' available now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital from Sony Home Entertainment.
Jitu is champion of this underground fighting ring run by the extremely wealthy who get their kicks off trafficking victims who most likely will not be missed or that local authorities will have little interest in fighting.
'Never Back Down: Revolt' is lead by a 90 percent female cast and was written Audrey Arkins in only her second full length feature film as well as directed by Kellie Madison, who is known for The Gate and The Tank.
We spoke with Chandra about her role at Jitu in 'Never Back Down: Revolt', her martial arts background, honoring her late father's memory through her artistic expression whether the martial or the musical ones and how South Asians are being recognized in more western films.
In this installment Never Back Down: Revolt, centers around Anya, a woman (Olivia Popica) who is kidnapped and forced to compete in an elite underground fight ring. She must battle her way out in order to regain her freedom. However, Janek (Bisping) and Mariah (Brooke Johnston) have other plans for the fighters they are trafficking. Rounding out the cast are Diana Hoyos (2020 Best Actress winner in Colombia for Enfermeras), Nitu Chandra (The Good Maharaja, Shooter), and James Faulkner (Atomic Blonde, Paul Apostle of Christ) who add to the intensified story telling a posterior kicking action.

Kellie Madison Takes the Director's Chair in 'Never Back Down: Revolt' Available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital, Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
Kellie Madison has been one of the coolest and most authentic action film enthusiast and maker we have ever met. Madison, who we first encountered on her 2016 film The Gate, continues to gain notoriety and respect in the American film industry that is almost 40 years behind China when it comes to serious, action film heroines.
Now, my old buddy and I play catch up on her latest film Never Back Down: Revolt, a new addition to the Never Back Down franchise. Where as the previous two featured Michael Jai White in them, this fourth installment now features, another Michael, former UFC Middleweight Champion, The Count, Michael Bisping as the antagonist.
Madison and I discuss some of the issues that she previously faced about directing certain films, the struggle of balancing femininity and strength because of her...female attributes and how she has gained the respect of all her cast and crew on Never Back Down: Revolt. She even suffers through my weeds versus flowers analogy on the differences between athletes and artists.

Having screened at the Newport Beach Film Festival and making its way to Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, Katie Boland reminds us that 'We're All in This Together' as she writes, directs and stars in this heartfelt film about mental health.
Inspired by the novel of the same title by fellow Canadian author, Amy Jones, 'We're All in This Together' follows the misadventures of the the Parker family, who's mother Kate somehow survives going over a waterfall in a barrel (yes, that was taken straight from the novel).
Boland had enjoyed the novel so much and once realizing that her and Ms. Jones shared the same literary agent, decided to contact the author in order to adapt her novel into a full length feature film, of which Boland plays twin sisters Finn and Nicki.
We also spoke with Boland about her mother, a retired professional photographer who was an executive producer of the film, her father Kevin, who has an incredible affinity for Kentucky Fried Chicken and her bother Michael, who composed the music with his writing partner for 'We're All in This Together.'
Official Synopsis:

The droll style of comedy delivered by Joe Pera has been quite refreshing as of late and with 'Joe Pera Talks with You' is a returning for a third season via Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.
Pera plays a choir director, who I would have loved to have as an instructor while in high school. Instead of someone like Pera, mine kept calling me, "Bob," something only two people are allowed to call me, not because I respect them, but because I fearful of them. Luckily, that ended quickly when I learned his first name was, "Richard," and I started to referring to him by his least favorite nickname.
As for Pera, his series returns this Sunday at 12:30 a.m. ET with all new episodes.
The first episode of this relaxing comedy show will follow Joe as he helps his friend Gene pick out his retirement chair at a furniture store and the season-long search for the perfect place to sit goes from there.
Additionally, this season, Joe will cover Great Lakes Ice Breakers, second fridges, cooking fish in the woods, classroom-appropriate movies, drone warfare, and much more!
