Fantasy Benchwarmers

News broke that the Atlanta Hawks' players are "complaining" about how Trae Young's poor playmaking/facilitating. Even his supposed partner-in-crime John Collins has been reported to have "called out" the star point guard. Two things can happen in this situation, one is the team implodes into a complete mess or two they take these things seriously and figure out what's best for them to win. So watch how this develops. Meanwhile, new players were placed under COVID protocols and from fans like us, it is not looking too good as the cases grow. But don't panic, and drop your COVID players or even sell them too low. Instead maybe treat it like any other injury.

We also discussed about the seemingly disinterested James Harden and one of many managers' favorite fantasy hold Chris Boucher! Will Nick Nurse  continue to give him the minutes?

What seemed to be just another ordinary day of NBA games, turned out to be quite an eventful one. Seth Curry, a player we just felt good about yesterday, tested positive for COVID just in time for the Philadelphia 76ers' tipoff versus the Brooklyn Nets. Curry was sidelined for this game but he was on the bench before being informed of the positive test. This then puts a lot of things in jeopardy and we had some lengthy discussion on what could happen next. We'll probably find out later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Moving on to more quickies, Lamarcus Aldridge finally showed up today to the relief of his owners. Now the question still remains, would this be the start of a good run or is this a fluke came where the matchup was just favorable to play him. Another one of our favorite punching bag here is Jusuf Nurkic who also did well today. Our outlook for Nurkic seems brighter than LMA though, so we're not too worried with his slump.

Going back to COVID, Michael Porter Jr's 10-game COVID protocol was extended another 10-games after he failed to follow proper protocols during his isolation. I don't know the details, but this is not good for his fantasy owners. It's still early though, so it's not time to panic, I guess.

It's a very eventful day in the fantasy basketball world with 11 scheduled games in the NBA!

The good - Bradley Beal goes berserk! Steven Adams shows some tricks he may have gotten from Russell Westbrook. Another Curry takes the stage and Marvin Bagley boosts his trade value!

The bad - Markelle Fultz out for the season which I should say really made me sad. The guy just couldn't catch a break! The silver lining in this is that he just signed a new deal, so at least there's that. De'Aron Fox injured his hammy, Russell Westbrook dislocated a finger, and the Pistons' guards are just injury bug favorites.

The ugly - Bogdan Bogdanovic still struggles to fit in Atlanta's rotation and stop shooting Devonte!!!

We've got a bunch of recommendations and players to watch in this quickie.

First off, apologies for the bad audio, I had some problems with my microphone after the intros. Anyway, it is high time we talk about probably the # 1 fantasy player so far...Nikola Jokic! Jokic is averaging a triple double with really good percentages and high defensive stats. Now would you trade James Harden for Jokic? We also discussed Jarrett Allen's breakout - can he sustain this or is it just another fluke week that will eventually end up in a disappointing season?

Of course our quickies will not be complete without our Buy options that included some vets and a budding point guard in Boston. Lastly, we discuss a trade question from our NBA Locker Room facebook group - Would you trade PG13 plus a low-end player for Sabonis and Fox? (question by Jeremy DS).

We hired some cuteness to do our intro for a change. Hope you liked that! Anyway, we had some Jayson Tatum, Fred Vanvleet in our quickie and more Julius Randle. Can Randle continue his impressive fantasy run? Once again, the Olynyk once a season streak has begun. Pick him up while he's hot. And is Time Lord worth your waiver priority?

Finally, where is Delon Wright? Oh and of course, trade Marvin Bagley III!

Kendrick Perkins last month said Damian Lillard is the best point guard in the NBA. Today, Steph Curry showed us why the best PG debate, well should still be debated. Curry shot the lights out en route to a 62 point performance. And as always with Curry, it was exciting to watch especially for his fantasy owners. Aside from Steph, commissioner Eric points out the under the radar averages of his brother Seth.

We also talked about Paul George and the seemingly trending up centers of the Washington Wizards, Thomas Bryant and Davis Bertans. Of course we have some buy/watch recommendations and the concerning play of Caris Levert.

One day before week 2 judgement day and we briefly talked about commissioner Eric's double 9-0 massacre in our two leagues. The challenge of doing an auction draft. In our FBW segment we discussed the resurgence of John Wall and Clint Capela and why Chris Boucher should be a keep. Who's the better add Justin Holiday or Doug Mcdermott? We also look into the struggles of Pascal Siakam, the dilemma of owning Demarcus Cousins and the down trending Al Horford.

Good luck on your week 2 judgement day!

Finally, AD and Dame shows up! Oh and Deandre Ayton plays his best game so far, hopefully that becomes a trend. Jaylen Brown and CJ Mccollum are still on fire while Terry Rozier and Devonte Graham threw bricks all night. Jusuf Nurkic is still not close to 2nd round or even 3rd round value, and Devin Booker and Jimmy Butler adds to the list of our worries.

Injuries are still plenty, with rookies Tyrese Haliburton and James Wiseman (both not too serious) joining the list of players that could be sidelined. Michael Porter Jr. missed a game (and maybe more) as he becomes the first "high-profile" COVID victim in the NBA.

Happy 2021!

First quickie of the year and definitely no LMA talk. As always we discuss our FBW (Feel good, Buy and Worry) players of the day. One of our biggest worry for the day is Deandre Ayton who is definitely not worthy of that 2nd round pick. We notice though that a number of players we "called out" on our quickies have somehow turned it around so we're hoping this happens for Ayton as well.

Commish Eric vents out his frustration as an unlikely player is killing one of his fantasy teams - JAVALE MCGEE!! Except for the horrible free throw percentage, Javale has exceeded expectations even making more 3s than Luka Doncic! Finally, we talk about the dilemma of owning Chris Boucher. After his massive stat line a few games back, he has been non-existent in the past couple of games. So should you keep, drop or sell Boucher?
