This week, hosts Jarrett Hill and Tre'vell Anderson are talking about the rise in gun ownership in the Black community.

Since March 15th there have been 45 events classified as ‘mass shootings. This year alone – as of the time we’re producing this episode – there have been 147 mass shootings.

With a rise in gun circulation, a 36% increase in background checks for firearms and an uptick in gun sales during the election year we're asking the question: should Black Americans join in on America's seeming obsession with guns?

This episode contains strong language, as the title of the episode suggests. Listener discretion is advised.

This week, hosts Jarrett Hill and Tre'vell Anderson are talking about the "n" word. No, not Chloé Zhao's 2020 indie hit Nomadland. We're talking about the word n*gger. And n*gga. And Tre'vell's personal favorite: nig nogs.

The word has been in the news rather recently with a number of newsrooms having to address its use by members of its staff. It seems the word is always up for debate in white spaces, among non-Black POC and even Black folks about who can and can't and who should or shouldn't use the word.

Jarrett and Tre'vell examine the debate of it all and share their own experiences with its use.

But first…

T(ea) Time

Tre'vell and Jarrett discuss media burn-out and the cost of remaining plugged in online.

DIS/Honorable Mentions

This week, Jarrett has an honorable mention for the new Youtube Original series Super Sema as well as an honorable mention for LA artists D Smoke and Sir. He also has a dishonorable mention for the raggedy duo of capitalism and white supremacy which work together to make everything worse.

But first…

Tre'vell and Jarrett discuss Lil Nas X and his new video Montero (Call Me By Your Name.)

DIS/Honorable Mentions

Tre'vell has an honorable mention for 100 Boyfriends by Brontez Purnell. You can pick it up here.

In part one of a two-part series, Jarrett Hill and Tre'vell Anderson take on awards shows. This week, we're joined by the legendary Danyel Smith who hosts the Spotify original Black Girl Songbook! We're sharing some of our favorite Grammy moments, what frustrates us about the selection process and what we see for the future of music. All that and more!

Tre'vell has some questions about what constitutes as line-cutting as it pertains to the vaccine.

DIS/Honorable Mentions

This week, Tre'vell has an honorable mention for comedian, actor and likely future FANTI topic Tiffany Haddish who just won a Grammy.

Jarrett has a "Who told y'all to do that?" for rapper Lil Baby whose Grammy performance depicting a Black man being gunned down by the police was certainly a choice. He also has an honorable mention to Cardi B for shouting out lesser known artists this week and getting both Ben Shapiro and Can't Dance Owens tight over her hit song about the importance of keeping a well-oiled machine.

Keeping it Grammy-related, he has an honorable mention for an up and coming artist...maybe you've heard of her? She goes by the name of Blue Ivy Carter and she just won a Grammy! She's related to another artist who goes by the name of Beyonce and we're all on her internet right now so let's bow down while the getting is good. Kthxbye!

Dishonorably and with all due disrespect, Jarrett and Tre'vell are calling out professional asshole Piers Morgan who walked off the set of his own show and ultimately got fired on his day off. Stiff upper lip, chap.
