This week, The Fat Dude is joined by the host of The Local Lou Podcast herself, Local Lou! We talk about South Dakota’s historical markers, adventures, and what it feels like to creatively thrive in the midst of a global pandemic. We also talk about how the love of movies is a wonderful gift passed down from parents, and how that gift turns into late night text messages from Mom. Then, we dive into Liu’s featured movie, 1987’s Baby Boom.
Head on over to @LocalLouPodcast on Instagram to follow Lou on her South Dakota adventures, and be sure to subscribe to The Local Lou Podcast on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts.

On this week’s episode, The Fat Dude chats with filmmaker Dominic Wieneke. The two sit down to discuss Dominic’s work including the short films “Mr. Pointy” and the upcoming “Black Eyed Girl,” as well as the feature film, Deathrot. The two also chat about a love for horror films, including the “gateway horror” films, such as this week’s featured film, Gremlins. Dominic shares just how much Joe Dante’s classic film had an impact on his love for cinema, both in front of and behind the camera.
You can find Dominic’s work on line by following Warwolf Productions across social media, and by checking out YouTube and Vimeo for his short films. If you live in the Sioux Falls area, you can head over to Last Stop CD Shop to pick up a DVD of Deathrot and a collection of two of Dominic’s short films.

On this week’s show, The Fat Dude is joined by the brains behind Saturday Morning Horrors, Grant Fieldgrove. The two talk about a barrage of topics in rapid, disorganized fashion including art, Steven Seagal, writing books, the REAL reason boys watched horror growing up in the 80s and early 90s, and Grant’s role in pushing the IndieGoGo campaign for the upcoming horror film, Time’s Up. Grant and Andy then discuss this week’s featured movie, Die Hard, and why it is one of the greatest action films of all time.
You can follow Grant on Instagram at SaturdayMorningHorrors or across various social media at GrantFieldgrove, except TikTok which is GrantFieldgroveArt. You can also contribute to the IndieGoGo campaign for Time’s Up at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/time-s-up-a-feature-horror-film.
