To say John Oakes has lived an oversized life is an understatement, at 6’10” and once weighing over 600 pounds. A perfect storm of medical issues, medications, and certainly his relationship with food brought him to the brink of death but he found the strength to fight back. John’s story doesn’t end with his getting gastric sleeve surgery but in many ways just began as he saw success and then failure, until he discovered new tools he needed, namely the ketogenic diet and a strong gym ethic.
