Seeking Wisdom: A Spiritual Path to Creative Connection
Julia Cameron has been Hailed by the New York Times as "The Queen of Change".
Julia Cameron is credited with starting a movement in 1992 that has brought creativity into the mainstream conversation, in the arts, in business and everyday life.
She is the best-selling author of more than forty books, fiction and nonfiction, a poet, songwriter, filmmaker and playwright.
Commonly referred to as "The Godmother" or "High Priestess" of creativity, her tools are based in practice, not theory, and she considers herself "the floor sample of her own toolkit".
The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity was published thirty years ago, and it has been translated into forty languages and sold over five million copies to date.
In Seeking Wisdom, Julia Cameron invites you to nurture your creativity by connecting with your higher power.
Julia Cameron returns to the spiritual roots of the Artists Way in this 6-week Program.
Tracing her own creative journey, Cameron reveals that prayer led her forward at a time of personal crisis.
Unexpectedly, prayer became an indispensable support to her artistic life.
The tools she created to save herself in her darkest hour became the tools she would share with the world through The Artist's Way.
Seeking Wisdom details the origin of these tools, and by Cameron's example, the central role that prayer plays in sustaining a life as an artist.
In this volume, Cameron shares a mindful collection of prayer practices that open our creative souls.
This path takes us beyond traditional religious rituals, welcoming readers regardless of their beliefs and backgrounds.
As you journey through each week of the program, you'll explore prayers of petition, gratitude, creativity, and more.
Along the way, the three beloved tools of The Artist's Way, Morning Pages, Artist Dates, and Walks are refreshed and re-introduced, to provide a proven, grounded framework for growth and development.
Additionally, Cameron introduces a fourth tool, Writing Out Guidance.

The Voice in Our Head, Why It Matters and How to Harness It
Ethan Kross is one of the World's Leading Experts on Controlling the Conscious Mind.
An award-winning professor in the University of Michigan's top ranked Psychology Department and its Ross School of Business, he is the director of the Emotion & Self Control Laboratory.
Ethan has participated in policy discussion at the White House and has been interviewed about his research on CBS Evening News, Good Morning America, Anderson Cooper Full Circle, and NPR's Morning Edition.
His pioneering research has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, Harvard Business Review, USA Today, The Economist, The Atlantic, Forbes, Time, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Science.
Ethan was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the University of Pennsylvania.
After earning his PhD in Psychology from Columbia University, Ethan completed a post-doctoral fellowship in social-affective neuroscience to learn about the neural systems that support self-control.
He moved to the University of Michigan in 2008, where he founded the Emotion & Self Control Laboratory.
Emotions & Self Control Lab explore how people can control their emotions to improve their understanding of how self-control works and to discover ways of enhancing self-control in daily life.
They have adopted an integrative approach to address these issues that draws on multiple disciplines within psychology including social, personality, clinical developmental, and neuroscience.
They integrate across these areas in terms of the types of questions they ask, the methods they use to address them, and the populations that they focus on.
Ethan is the author of the National Bestseller Chatter The Voice in Our Head, Why it Matters and How to Harness it, which was chosen as one of the best new books of the year by the Washington Post, CNN and USA Today and the Winning Winter 2021 selection for Malcolm Gladwell, Adam Grant, Susan Cain and Dan Pink's Next Big Idea Book Club.
Chatter is scheduled to be translated into over 35 languages. Ethan lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and two daughters.
In Chatter, acclaimed psychologist Ethan Kross explores the silent conversations we have with ourselves.
Interweaving groundbreaking behavioural and brain research from his own lab with real-world case studies, from a pitcher who forgets how to pitch, to a Harvard undergrad negotiating her double life as a spy.
Ethan Kross explains how these conversations shape our lives, work and relationships.

But the good news is that we're already equipped with the tools we need to make our inner voice work in our favour.

EP.155 - It's Not Always Depression with Hilary Jacobs Hendel
Listen to the Body, Discover Core Emotions and Connect To Your Authentic Self
Hilary Jacobs Hendel is a Certified Psychotherapist and the author of It's Not Always Depression.
Her goal is to educate people on the benefits of understanding what emotions really are and how they affect our mind, brain and body.
We live in a culture that values thoughts and logic over emotions. But science has proven it is not healthy to tune out our emotions and we do not have to choose between our thoughts and our emotions.
We can become aware of both and understand how thoughts and emotions work together to help us feel better or feel worse depending on how we work with them.
Emotions are very unique in their potential to cause traumatic stress and everyday distress.
But what most people do not know, because we were never taught this in school, is that emotions are the doorway to healing our anxieties, depression, low self-esteem, and other mental health symptoms.
Working with our emotions in very specific ways, which is what the Change Triangle tool for emotional health is all about, as it help us to manage daily life with more ease and helps us meet the challenges of our relationships.
We were all taught that our thoughts affect our emotions, but in truth it is largely the other way around: we have to experience our emotions to truly understand our thoughts, and our full selves.
This is why we should think not only about cognitive behavioural therapy or medication, but also about our emotions, when addressing psychological suffering.
In It's Not Always Depression, pioneering psychotherapist Hilary Jacobs Hendel reveals the most effective techniques for putting us back in touch with the emotions we too often deny methods which can be used by anyone, any time, any where.
Drawing on stories for her own practice, she sheds light on the core emotions (such as joy, sadness and fear), defences (anything we do to avoid feeling) and inhibitory emotions (anxiety, shame and guilt), and how understanding their interaction can help us return to mental well-being and be more calm, curious and connected.
Yvette Le Blowitz Podcast Host sits down with Hilary Jacobs Hendel to find out what emotions really and how they affect our mind, body and brain.
In Podcast Episode 155
Hilary Jacobs Hendel shares:
- a little bit about himself
- how is Author journey unfolded

- what The Change Triangle tool for emotional health is
- how to listen to the body
- how to discover core emotions
- how to connect to your authentic self
- how to overcome anxiety and depression through a shift of mind
- how to become self-aware
