Our guest this week is New Zealand's fastest woman, who recently broke the Oceania 100m record and ran the fastest 100m time EVER on Australian soil. Zoe Hobbs is not only an incredible athlete, but also a cofounder of a nutrition start up called Athos. Zoe is the epitome of hard work and self belief, and now holds a PB of 10.97 seconds. Zoe speaks to us about her journey as an athlete, her relationship with food and how she now focuses on her self in a holistic manner to perform at such a high level.

This year it is thought that Embrace Equity is the 2023 theme - but in actual fact the IWD theme globally led by the UN is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality. The focus is on digital technologies contributing to gender biases and widening the economic and social inequalities for women. The UN are aiming to build a safer, more inclusive & more equitable digital future.

We personally love this theme as it is close to our heart, being a Femtech company that plays in the science and sporting space.

In this episode we talk about all things mindfulness and slowing down with the beautiful Zoe Klein. Zoe has been teaching yoga since 2015 and lives and breathes mindfulness practices. Zoe has recently joined the Nike team alongside Lydia, as the Nike Yoga teacher and not only is she a meditation instructor, she is also a qualified psychotherapist. We are so excited to be introducing our new Femmi Expert - Sport and Exercise Scientist Claire Badenhorst. Claire completed her PhD in Exercise Physiology at The University of Western Australia 2017 and now works at Massey University as a Senior Lecturer in Exercise and Sport Science. Her role at Massey University is focused on research, post-graduate student supervision, teaching, and serving as Major Leader of the Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sport Science). Claire’s research to date has focused on health and wellbeing in athletes, with a particular interest in female physiology and the menstrual cycle, iron status and regulation, and low energy availability. With a personal research programme focused on women’s health, Claire can see the value of not only promoting women’s health research but ensuring equity and access to information to ensure all individuals can benefit from the resources, support, and information that will enable them to succeed in their health, sport, and career.

We are so excited to introduce to you our NEW femmi running coach - the incredible, Dora Atim. Dora is a Nike Run Club coach and the founder of Ultra Black Running - a running community built for Black woman and gender nonconforming people to tackle the barriers that present for these marginalised groups within running. Dora is also a youth mentor, doing the incredible work of encouraging young people to engage in sport. Throughout this episode we cover Dora's story, how she got into running and the mission she is on to help others to feel seen and heard in our sport.
