FGC Philosophy

Guilty Gear Strive just came out officially on June, 11th 2021 and it's been a hot topic in the FGC. There's still so much to explore about this game but so far it seems to be widely accepting minus the only lobbies (discussed in episode). I hope to revisit how I feel about this game in the near future.

I've been on the mindset topic for a while. I really appreciate that I get to take these deep dives into the topic with various people. Frodo and Bilbo (AKA The Hobits) is one of Kalamazoo FGC's oldest members at this point. He has a passion for learning fighting games and a very positive attitude that inspires the other players. In the past TheHobits and I have discussed points hit in this episode, but now we get to share that conversation and hit on some new points never discussed.

In this conversation Truth and I focus on the mental game of SFV.  We get into our personal struggles with A.D.D. and A.D.H.D., tilting, Strategy, and even breaking the rules of SFV. It feels great to have these conversations because we both get to learn about each other's perspectives and share that with everyone. Keep in mind that much of what we talk about is from experience. For as long as I can remember I've always had issues concentrating or focusing on something for a long period of time. During my journey to improve as a fighting game player I've learned that this issue exists within my Fighting game practice. This is an issue I've been working on for a while and I wanted to take some time to talk about my thoughts and experiences on the topic.

I'm still struggling to decide where I stand on this topic so I want to start a discussion about it. SNK is a company that's been around for a very long time. In the world of fighting games their one of the legends. I grew up loving SNK games like Metal Slug, Fatal Fury,  and SNK vs Capcom. Prince Muhammad Bin Salman is the current  Minister of Defense of Saudia Arabia (links Below) has done some very questionable things, including the alleged assassination of journal Paul Kyshogi (link below). I recently found out that he recently purchased shares of SNK and hopes to gain a majority.

 

I'm still learning about who Muhammad Bin Salman is. I don't want to be too hasty in making a clear-cut choice on where I stand with his acquisition. That said, currently, I don't feel too great about it and I hope that changes. This is a topic I plan to revisit in the future as I learn more about both SNK and MBS.
