Paul writes a letter to his friend and fellow pastor, Philemon, about his (Philemon's) runaway slave. Paul knows that God is not accepting of slavery, but he also knows that the slave, Onesimus, has done wrong by shaming his master and fellow Christian, Philemon. Paul provides a cure for every offense by appealing to, and living like, Jesus. Jesus is better than "social justice" and He can heal every culture. Philemon.

Chapter 12 concludes Jesus' "pubic" ministry and it ends with overwhelming rejection on the part of the people. John explains this phenomenon through Scripture and example. The truth is that people rarely have a hard time understanding Jesus or His message, they simply do not like it. Man likes his glory/plans more. John 12:36-50.

Some non-Jews come to see Jesus and EVERYTHING changes. Jesus declares the hour of His Father's glory and it begins and revolves around His death. But, this message is more than a ministry for His disciples to hear, it is a message we, too, must participate in. John 12:20-36.

The crowd continues to grow as Jesus enters Jerusalem for Passover. They are now declaring Him to be King, & He accepts their claim. But why then, did they turn on Him so shapely 6 days later? We need to Worship the KING, not just the Savior. John 12:12-19.

After raising Lazarus from the dead, the family throws Jesus a party. One person worships Jesus while another criticizes. We either give it all to Jesus or we don't. John 12:1-8.

Happy Easter. "If only I could see Jesus do a miracle, then I would…" Well, this week we learn what is truly in the heart of man and how the world really does react to the power of Jesus. Rather than worship Him, they conspire to kill Him? John 11:45-57.

After dealing with the faith of the Disciples and Martha, Jesus now turns to Mary and the crowd of mourners. Their response is typical and centers on the perceived loss of opportunity on the part of Jesus. They fail to see Jesus, so He weeps. Jesus is the Life and Resurrection: Focus on Him. John 11:28-44.

With the situation at its worst, Jesus arrives and is greeted by a broken and distraught family. Yet, rather than blame Jesus or give up hope, a grieving sister declares her living present and eternal faith. John 11:17-27.

Moving on from the conversations about Shepherding and conspiracy, Jesus soon learns that His dear friend is sick and in need of His help. But rather than rush to the sick friend's aide, Jesus delays and speaks of the Father's glory, His presence, and our salvation. Life is hard, but God has a plan! John 11:1-16.

Jesus wraps up His debate with the anger and jealous religious mob by appealing to the Word of God and His works. He makes very little of His deity, theology, or identity, but instead asks believe in Him based on His ACTIONS. Why? Because it matters not what we think we believe, but how we live. Those who know God behave like God. John 10:30-42.
