What does a rising rate environment mean for bond investors, and is now the time for them to consider leveraged loans? Today we catch up with portfolio manager Michael Plage for a look at the fixed-income market landscape. We caught up with Michael on the morning of July 27th, the day of the U.S. Federal Reserve announcement. Markets traded in positive territory in anticipation of the rate announcement on the backs of strong earnings from tech leaders in this current earnings season. Michael shares that the upcoming CPI Print on August 10th is important, believing a double-digit number means the Fed isn’t slowing but 7-8%, and the market will read as Fed is almost done. So in addition to unpacking Fed moves and an overall look at the market landscape with host Pamela Ritchie, Michael also provides an update on positioning in the several fixed income funds he is involved with for Canadian investors.
