Fight Back with Libby Znaimer episodes

  • Strategy Panel
To discuss the topics of the week, Libby Znaimer is joined by John Capobianco, Senior Vice President & Senior Partner of FleishmanHillard HighRoad, Charles Bird, Managing Principal of Earnscliffe Strategy Group in Toronto, and Kim Wright, Principal of Wright Strategies.
The provincial premiers are meeting in Saskatoon and for the first time in a long time, there is not a single woman among them. Does that matter? The five Conservatives got a head start at the Calgary Stampede yesterday reinforcing their stance as a united front against the carbon tax. Doug Ford, of course coming off a really bruising legislative session and refusing to answer questions about the Dean French patronage scandal which hit after the cabinet shuffle that was supposed to mark a major reset. In the midst of all this, it appears the Conservatives have all but lost their lead over the Liberals in the latest polling which shows that Justin Trudeau is finally recovering after his own disastrous session.

  • Ontario Food Terminal
Libby Znaimer is joined by Ernie Hardemann, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and Christine Hogarth, MPP of Etobicoke-Lakeshore. They talk about the future of the Ontario Food Terminal.
The government of Ontario has decided not to move the Ontario Food terminal from its current location in South Etobicoke. It's the biggest wholesale produce distribution centre in the country, the third largest food terminal in North America. It's the place where wholesalers and retailers of fresh produce come together in the wee hours to buy, sell and get the fruit and vegetables to consumers as quickly as possible.
