Fight Disciples Podcast

Boxing is finally back and what a start to the year.  Errol Spence Jr. made a case to be classed as the best Welterweight on the planet and got us salivating at the prospect of a showdown with Keith 'One Time' Thurman.

We also discuss Billy Joe Saunders vs Martin Murray, Tyson Fury's weight and the Cruiserweights at the world boxing super series.

The Fight Disciples are joined in the studio by former world title challenger Jazza Dickens, who is all set for a return for his old British title early in 2018.

From watching Lomachenko do to Rigondeaux what he'd hoped to achieve, to joining Derry Mathews' thriving pro stable and the hilarious tale of him sobbing in a bath tub in Miami with a 21-year-old pussy cat - this is one episode not to be missed!

No words needed.  THIS is the biggest fight in the UFC right now.  Can Stipe Miocic become the first Heavyweight champion to defend his world title 3 times or will there be a new king come Sunday morning?  Amazing that the champ is the bookmakers underdog when he's on such a win streak.  That's because it's not everyday he faces Francis Ngannou!

He didn't make an appearance in the UFC throughout 2017 yet everyone is still talking about Conor McGregor.  How should the UFC treat the situation?  Surely their proposition should be ... defend or vacate!

The fight game is unforgiving, just ask James Degale, Carl Frampton or Michael Bisping. Men who had stellar years in 2016 but within 12 months their world looks completely different.

2017 was an odd year that brought us huge stadium events, a circus like hybrid cross over and world title losses. However, there's still plenty to celebrate!

The Heavyweight champion's stock has risen and is set to provide even more blockbuster showdowns in the new year. The best are starting to fight the best without politics getting in the way and there's a young scouser in the UFC that is capturing the imagination of the entire world.

In this review we look back over the year, celebrate the moments that stood out and we look forward to an exciting 2018.

The UFC Welterweight division is currently on fire and a new legitimate contender threw his hat in the ring at the weekend. Should we really be surprised though because Rafael Dos Anjos is the former Lightweight world champion. He came of age in Winnipeg beating the former 170lbs champ and much bigger man in Robbie Lawler.

We also discuss the sharks circling Tyron Woodley, British disappointment in Canada and the need for Conor.
