Fight Disciples Podcast

After a sensational end to 2021 boxing limped back into action at the weekend with a Joe Smith Jr. title defence.

The fighter himself, did what he was supposed to do, and that was to beat up the 107th ranked Light Heavyweight served up in front of him.  Yes, we understand that Steve Geffrard was an opponent found on 8 days notice given the positive COVID test for Callum Johnson but you will not convince us that he was the best option available.

Boxing must do better.

We also look ahead to a man we only see once a year.  The Santa of the sweet science, Gary Russell Jr. returns this weekend.

Of all the pieces of fighter memorabilia you would want to collect, the cup from old hot balls himself might be the most unique yet!

Derrick Lewis did the business against Chris Daukus and then gave a fan a night to remember.

We discuss the whole event and everything else from the world of MMA.

A fun night in Manchester marred once again by the incompetent scoring by British judges.

It is getting worse by the week and its besides the point that the right man had his hand raised in the main event at the weekend.

We have to do better before we begin to lose out on the opportunity of the world's best fighting infront of us because they're scared of getting a dodgy decision.

We discuss the weekends action...

Bring out the humble pie.

Nobody predicted the biggest upset of the year happening at UFC269 but the night belonged to Juliana Pena as she handed Amanda Nunes her first defeat since 2014 and became the Bantamweight world champion.

Charles Oliveira showed us he is the best at 155 whilst several others made claims for title runs in 2022.

UFC 269 was unbelievable.

Is there anything better than seeing one of your favourite fighters roll back the years and show off the skills that made them famous a decade ago?

Jose Aldo put on his best bantamweight showing against Rob Font and got our tongues wagging about the potential for him to fight for the title again.

We review the weekends UFC as well as getting giddy for the upcoming UFC269 card.
