Fight Disciples Podcast

He may have had to wait an awful long time to experience the feeling of being the best light heavyweight in the UFC but for those romantics amongst us nobody can begrudge Glover Teixeira being the king of the 205ers.

What a performance and what an Indian summer.

Elsewhere in the co-main event Petr Yann showed who the main man is at Bantam despite there being another man walking around with a piece of hardware over his shoulder.

We had major breakout performances too for Khamzat Chimaev and Islam Makhachev.

It's also UFC268 this week so a preview of that and Bellator Dublin is also included in todays show.

We pick the bones out of Costa vs Vettori and the issue of cutting weight to fight as well as all the other MMA news from the previous 7 days.

We also get stuck into a UFC267 preview.

The main talking point from the UFC action at the weekend is Aspen Ladd's corner and whether the tine used instructing their fighter was appropriate.  We discuss that as well as the scoring in Roberts vs Emeev and the Jim Miller still knocking guys out at the ripe old age of 74 (joke)

As well as Belator and Cage warriors we also preview this weeks action.

The action in the ring for the most part over the weekend was hugely disappointing.  A series of poor matchmaking in Newcastle failed to capture the imagination and even when Sandor Martin provided an upset against the once great Mikey Garcia in Fresno, we still leave the fight a little deflated.

The best action from Saturday took place between to lightweights in a ringside argument in the hope of which leads to a fight.  Devin Haney made a B line for the world champion Teofimo Lopez of which we pick the bones out of.

Emmanuel Navarette and Joet Gonzalez provided the best fight of the weekend and top rank deliver once again this coming week as we preview Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson.

If you didn't know before then you most certainly know now.

Tyson Fury, by some distance, is the best Heavyweight in the world after he defeated the second best Heavyweight, Deontay Wilder, for a second time, in what many would perceive to be the best Heavyweight fight they've ever seen.

As well as all the fall out from Vegas we celebrate some fantastic fights domestically in Liverpool and Birmingham as well as previewing this weeks action.

The big talking point from this weekend's MMA is whether or not Holland vs Daukus should have been a no contest.

We get stuck into that as well as the rest of last weekend's MMA, including that Bellator London card, and we look ahead to this week's female fighting main event.

The lads are back in Las Vegas for Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder III and all bets are well and truly on! Can the man with a punchers chance regain his belts or will the Gypsy King deliver once again?
We also get stuck into two cracking cards at home in Liverpool and Birmingham, plus we review the destructive prowess of David Avanesyan and hail the career of the next President of the Philippines Mr Emmanuel Pacquiao.

If there was any doubt over who was the main man at 145 in the UFC there most certainly isn't now.

Alexander Volkanovski showed the levels he is willing to go to remain the king.

We discuss an epic main event which followed some unbelievable moments on yet another top quality night for the UFC.
