Fight Disciples Podcast

2020 is most certainly the year of the stand in.

Stay ready so you don't have to get ready and when an opportunity comes your way grab it with both hands.  Congratulations Marvin Vittori who claimed a win over Jack Hermansson and catapulted himself up the middleweight rankings.

We also look ahead to to this weekends UFC256 and the start of the unofficial lightweight tournament we've been pitching for weeks!

Lyndon 'King' Arthur won the battle of light heavyweight Britain at the weekend proving that pedigree is paramount in boxing.  His fantastic jab was enough to see off the challenge of Anthony Yarde.  The after math and judging of the fight are big talking points for us this week.

We also get stuck into the return of Errol Spence and the news that Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul are having a dance in February.

It's AJ fight week too , so plenty to look forward to!

Clarissa Shields is officially entering the world of MMA by signing for the PFL.

Kayla Harrison is surely the target.

We discuss this, the fights that are being rescheduled because of COVID and all the weekends action on Episode 450.

Joe Joyce is the new British, Commonwealth and European Heavyweight champion as he ram rodded his way to a sensational victory over Daniel Dubois.  The younger man couldn't see after eating the Juggernaut's jab all night.  Did he quit?  We discuss on this weeks show.

Also, Iron Mike vs Superman wasn't as bad as we all thought it was going to be and we left with a smile on our face.

Theres some monster fights to preview this week too, so lets get stuck in!

It's positive vibes only when we talk boxing from now on as everyone seems to be getting their act together.

We start with a review of Conor Benn's performance at the weekend and how much he has developed in such a short space of time.  He also knows how to cut a promo too!

The big fight this week is taking place at the iconic church house in Westminster.  As domestic dustups go, it really doesn't get better than Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce and what a way to kick off the festive calendar which is littered with cracking bouts.

Of course we talk about the return of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones as well.

What can we say about Paul Felder?

The attitude he has shown over the last 10 days in particular is the reason we love fight sports.  Yes, he lost the fight, but he won the hearts of the MMA community.

We direct everything from the UFC at the weekend including that insane KO from Khaos Williams as well as looking ahead to this weekends UFC255 card.

In all our years covering the sport we've never seen anything like it.

26 minutes watching a video screen (VAR) to still come up with the wrong decision is an absolute farce and a new low for the NSAC.

We talk extensively about the Moloney vs Franco decision as well as the main event from that same card with Terence Crawford beating Kell Brook.

Katie Taylor looked mint but some of the judging leaves a lot to be desired from that Matchroom card.

We also look ahead to Conor Benn back in action this weekend.

Glover Teixeira may be 41 years old but he is the man next in line for a shot at the light heavyweight world title.  He put on a headline grabbing display, defeating Thiago Santos to set up call's for his go at the gold.

Islam Makhachev is out of his fight with RDA this weekend so who is going to step up as a replacement.  We have a suggestion that you will definitely enjoy.

The biggest news from the week in boxing is that Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is a free agent.

This surely paves the way for the biggest star in boxing to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see.  That in mind we speak about the upcoming matchups for the other big names and Dana White getting involved in the sport with Claressa Shields.

Of course we review the weekends action and look ahead to a stacked week in the ring.
