Fight Disciples Podcast

Holly Holm in recent fights has been going through the motions and not really exciting the fans.  Well, if she heard that critique in the build up to her fight at the weekend, she most certainly reacted.

It was vintage Holly Holm, rolling back the years with sensational punch output.

Bellator was the MMA highlight of the weekend, which is something we haven't seen for a long time, so its nice to switch over to the franchise and pay credit where its due!

Hand out the trophy NOW!!

Saturday night in the Top Rank bubble, we saw the fight of 2020.  8 Knock downs in 5 rounds of fighting, culminating in a knock out of the year contender.  Zepeda vs Baranchyk was truly outstanding.

As well as this we talk about the Matchroom card featuring Joshua Buatsi and a bizarre women's world title fight.

A lot was spoken about Israel Adesanya being the "skinny guy" at Middleweight but as we've told you before, muscles don't win fights!

We go through an amazing night at UFC253 and look ahead to this weeks show from Fight Island.

Cage Warriors are setting the bar regarding British MMA and we pay huge credit to them as well as a look back at Fabian Edwards in Bellator over in Milan.

When Josh Taylor landed that body shot Apinun Khongsong hit the canvas like a sack of spuds and wanted no more.

A truly vicious shot that is only part of this weeks conversation.

Both Charlo brothers stepped up and impressed but are they getting the credit they deserve?  Mairis Briedis is the main man now at Cruiserweight after his win in the world boxing super series but where is the next challenge for him? Finally an appeal to the British Broadcasters.  Buy Lomachenko vs Lopez, PLEASE!!

All this and much more on the multi award winning Fight Disciples.

We've waited a long time for a fight week like this and boxing is more than playing it's part.

Here in the UK Josh Taylor defends his unified titles against Khongsong from Thailand, whilst over in the states the Charlo boys are on a world title double header.  Briedis and Dorticos conclude their World Boxing Super Series too!

What a week!!

As well as all the fights we get stuck into the biggest talking points.

The UFC heads back to fight island this weekend for a 5 week run that could provide us with several fight of the year contenders.

Not only is the vacant light heavyweight title on the the line at UFC253 but the most anticipated showdown of the year between Israel Adesanya and Paolo Costa is the main event.

As well as a huge preview we look back at Woodley vs Covington and asses Michael Chandlers chances in the UFC.

It's safe to say they don't like one another and this weekend they get to smack each other in the face, yes Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington should be a war while it lasts.

As well as providing you with a huge preview to that main event and the rest of the UFC Vegas 12 card, we also look back on last weekend's fights, including a tremendous battle between Angela Hill and Michelle Waterson Finally, we plead with the UFC to pay Dustin Poirier what he wants in order to make the super-fight eliminator between him and Tony Ferguson on Fight Island II. And we reflect on another bizarre week for the retired Conor McGregor.

Canelo is heading to court, filing suit against Oscar De La Hoya, Goldenboy Promotions and DAZN.

It doesn't look like he'll be in the ring any time soon so how does that effect the Super Middleweight landscape?

We also look back at a solid display from Anthony Yarde, an unusual Unanimous draw decision and a dancing bear in Russia!

Michel Pereira delivered his best performance to date in the UFC as he balanced his crazy antics with some stellar MMA to snatch the headlines away from Alistair Overeem.

We look back at the very best of a card struck down by the pandemic before looking ahead to what is to come on Fight Island 2.0.

As well as all that, we're getting excited about about the OG BMF Nick Diaz!
