Fight Disciples Podcast

So, Eddie's Garden is a real thing and what a way to kick things off, an all out boxing assault, a couple of highlight reel KO's and an absolute domestic classic that could have swung either way. Brilliant!

Saturday's curtain jerker main eventer Jordan Gill, the newly crowned Fight Disciples Franchise champion joins Nick to reflect on a glorious night of boxing, plus look ahead to another corker of a fight night at Barry's gaff on Friday night.

The lads also talk about Lomachenko, Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jnr, plus much more.

Fight Island has absolutely lived up to all expectations over the past fortnight, at the final main event was truly a spellbinding violent chess match of the highest striking order. Robert Whittaker edged the decision in a fight that was tense and engrossing from start to finish, but neither fighters reputation slipped in a fitting Yas Island finale.

As well as the main event, we look back over the entire 15-fight card, which featured the heroes, legends, villains and at least three super exciting new rising stars that left us thirsty for more.

There are plenty of fighters right now putting their hand up to fight Canelo but how many do you give a realistic chance of beating the Mexican?

If what we are hearing is correct then Callum Smith is going out of his way to try and make that fight and hopefully the lads at Goldenboy take him up on his offer as it's by far the most competitive fight available.

We talk about that, Joe Joyce being back this weekend and the WBA arguing the need for more belts.

Fight Island started with UFC251 which brought up some huge topics for debate.

Did Kamaru Usman miss the opportunity to become a PPV star?  Was Max Holloway robbed? Is Petr Yan the best Bantamweight on the planet?

And that's just the title fights.  We discuss the whole main card and preview the upcoming midweek fight night featuring Molly McCann.

Jorge Masvidal is living up to that BMF title.

On 6 days notice, in the middle of a pandemic, he's flying half way around the world to fight one of the UFC's most dominant champions.  WOW!

Fight Island gets underway this weekend with UFC 251 which brings us three world class title fights culminating with Usman vs Masvidal.

After chasing Canelo for the best part of three years, Billy Joe Saunders has now ruled himself out of being a potential opponent for the Mexican in September.

This will provide an opportunity for many other fighters to shoot their shot at fighting the biggest meal ticket in town.  We discuss the runners and riders who may get the call.

On the show we also talk about the potential Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell fight, more excuses from Team Wilder and Boxing returning to British soil this weekend.

Are we happy with drug cheats being allowed to make a living in our sport?

Boxing has an opportunity now to make a stand and if it doesn't do it now it never will.  Jarrell Miller failed yet another PED test this week ahead of his proposed comeback on July 9th.  We discuss what needs to happen in order to prevent cheats like him continuing to work in boxing.

We also discuss the back and forth between Dillian Whyte and TYSON FURY on social media, the fights announced for Eddie's back garden and we review the recent action from Las Vegas.
