Dr Rebecca I Payne sees herself as a New Yorker/New Jersey girl at heart and has spent the last numerous years punctiliously studying biblical texts. What she ascertained from her research has had a profound influence on her life, to the extent that her life as she knows and sees it today is a far cry from her carefree youth days. Dr Payne continues to seek God’s counsel and judgement in her daily routines something she learned from her religious studies around her Master of Arts degree in Biblical Exposition. In addition to her degree in Biblical Exposition Dr Payne has a doctorate in Business Administration. 

For Dr Payne life started in Queens, New York City, then to Brooklyn and finally East Orange in New Jersey where she presently lives. Like most of us her life has been a journey of ups and downs but over time the strength she has gained by the Lord’s guidance has as she sees it steered her and continues to steer her down the right path, a path that has opened new channels in her life, a life of confidence and spirituality and it is that journey that she writes about in her books.

The Book

There are nine chapters to this poignantly composed small book of fifty-eight pages, the story and the message Dr Payne is getting across is told through the eyes of two main characters, Miss Mazey and Jamie as they face everyday life from a Christian understanding of how to lead a faithful journey. For me the chapters ‘The Path to Peace’ and ‘Hope through Pain,’ really stood out, but that’s my opinion, look for yourselves.

This book explores the notions of who God wants us to be and suggests an interpretation of what He wants us to do. It presents us with a divine opportunity to ponder what we want from life, and it gives us the challenge to reflect the image of Christ Jesus. It is both dynamic and cathartic in life lessons and experiences, and the way we choose to live.
