We are joined by Ellen Mitchell, FertilityCare Practitioner Intern and fellow lover of helping others figure out the best FABM for them!
We're talking through some basic questions you can ask yourself to discern what the best fertility awareness based method is for you. The questions are below! This episode has been split into a part 1 and a part 2.
Want a nice pretty version of the questions with space to write in your thoughts and answers? Email [email protected] or message me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chartingtowardintimacy/
1. How regular are your cycles? Regular is anything in the range of about 23-35 days. Do you want to seek medical help for regulating your cycles?
2. Is cost a factor for choosing a method of Fertility Awareness?
3. How would you most like to chart? Paper charts, app on your phone, online charting, doesn’t matter, etc.
4. How committed are you to charting? Charting doesn’t take a long time, but some methods do require a bit more effort and/or time.
5. How much data would you like? Some methods are simple with just one sign charted and some offer multiple signs to crosscheck.
End of Part 1

6. Is your schedule similar day to day or different daily? For example, do you work shift work and often sleep and wake up at different times or do you typically wake up at the same time daily?
7. How do you feel about using technology with a Fertility Awareness Based Method? Some methods rely on your personal observations of biomarkers throughout your cycle, some rely on a monitor or thermometer to give objective data, and some are a combination of both. What would you say is your level of trust in your ability to observe your body signs (keep in mind instructors work with you to ensure you are confident in charting your signs)? What would you say your level of trust is in relying on some form of technology (monitor, thermometer, etc.) to give you data?
8. What is your short-term goal? What stage of life are you in right now (getting married soon, single and want to chart for knowledge, postpartum, perimenopause, etc.)?
