  • 81. [INTERVIEW] Balance is bullshit with Nicole Palmer

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I'm so thrilled to chat with Nicole Palmer, former owner of Nicole J Boutique. Nicole is still on a mission to help women look and FEEL their best! After ten years of owning a clothing store and styling clients, she has realized that confidence has very little to do with the clothes that we wear and a lot to do with how we feel about ourselves.

Through her podcast, online course and social media pages her personal mission is to bring more awareness to mental health and to help women truly LOVE the person they see in the mirror!

    Today we chat about:

    • Nicole's experience with anxiety
    • Nicole's journey closing her boutique
    • Self care and taking care of your needs first
    • Instagram vs. Reality
    • Giving 100% every day

  • 80. Is it self care or is it self sabotage? How do you know the difference?

    Send us Fan Mail

I've spent the last year in healing mode, extending myself a lot of grace, and allowing my self to rest, recover and in some cases, take the easy route. That was actually perfect for the season that I was in but now I'm in a season where most of my healing is done and I'm ready to step things up so that I can perform more optimally more often.

What this means for me is that I need to start to learn the difference between self care and self sabotage. I believe the difference and the determining factor is my future self. What will my future self thank me for later? Will my future self thank me for the extra "rest" or will it thank me for doing the workout I didn't want to do?

Today I share three areas of my life where I notice I often self sabotage and call it self care. I don't have all the answers yet but I want to share this experience with you and take you along for the ride!

    Episodes referenced in this episode:

    • Are you OK or are you missing something bigger?
    • 1 year on anti-depressants and 5 additional strategies to combat depression

Other bad ass women mentioned in this episode:

    • Corinne Angelica
    • Kacia Fitzgerald

  • 76. Building sustainable habits for long term success

    Send us Fan Mail

Today we're talking about habits. Often times the gap between where we are now and where we want to be is so great that either:

    1. We don't get started at all because we're intimidated or feel like there is no way to get to that place
    2. We do change our whole lives to accomodate this new thing we want to do but it's not sustainable so we quit when life gets hard

Both of those outcomes leave you right where you are now. But if you start smaller, break that thing down into more digestible, more realistic habits, they are much easier to sustain. THEN you can build on those and keep building. As time goes by you are slowly changing your life and when you look back you're in a completely different spot.

THAT is what I want for you!

    Send us Fan Mail

Consider this a public service announcement to moms that we deserve to take care of ourselves FOR ourselves. Sometimes we shy away from taking care of ourselves or treating ourselves because we think we should be putting other people's needs ahead of our own. That's simply not true. We deserve to love and care for ourselves!
