Scene Considerations

I live in the flight path for Dallas Love field.  

Location-water, runway, road, forested area?

Leaking fuel? Fuel is stored in the wings which are likely to be damaged

Number of patients?

Resources available?

Likely types of trauma

Similar to a car crash, but higher energy impact

Typically gliding into obstacles, but there are planes with parachutes

Head injuries

Fractures

Bleeding

Do we move patients out of a plane?

Dynamic situation, which could change quickly. Pilots use a few factors to decide whether to order an evacuation. I would think of it like they do. 

Severity:A major fire, uncontrolled smoke, or severe structural damage would necessitate an immediate evacuation. 

Location and accessibility:If the plane is on the ground and accessible to emergency services, evacuation might be quicker and safer. 

Ability to manage the emergency:If the crew believes they can contain the issue and safely land the plane, they might not initiate an evacuation. 

When a pilot might choose to keep passengers on board:

Minor emergencies:Minor structural damage might not warrant an immediate evacuation.

Potential for further danger:If evacuating could put passengers at greater risk due to the location or weather conditions, the pilot might choose to remain on board until a safer opportunity arises.

Risk vs. Reality in Self-Defense

An interesting factoid is that there's 99.997971% chance you won't need a gun to defend yourself today, but play that game every day over the 21,535 days of the average adult life and there's a 35.405% chance you will need it at least once. To me that's the flaw in people's perception of risk, people inherently look at things through the lens of the day-to-day and will fail to recognize the totality of risk over large stretches of. To me that's why people who are not inherently interested in firearms tend to be apprehensive, we're essentially asking them to make a ~$3,000 bet (in my estimation anyway) to purchase equipment and develop a skill plus a lifetime of maintenance in that skill that has a less than a 1:50,000 chance of being relevant to that person in any given day when the alternative is to literally do nothing.

DrStupidGuy - I wanted to use a hera stock to build a space gun. and i wanted to use an AR57 upper to make use of those 50rd magazines. and i wanted a crossbolt safety so i didn't mix up manual of arms with a regular AR. and then sbr it. And then i realized this is just a shoddy ps90 ripoff. I already have a ps90 sbr. Is this yet another of my $1k mistakes? BTW the sale is now so by the time you read this in 4 months i'll already be a time traveler with my space guns. Should i have did buy bought it 10 weeks ago from now when you will have read this already then?

Nick D - Looking for a higher mid level 2011, I’m looking at the Apache, the Kimber 2k11 and, the masterpiece arms DS9. Thoughts? I’m leaning hard to the Apache. Anything else I should consider?

Jacob A - So I recently moved from a tooling design engineer to a manufacturing engineer at work. One of the toolmakers wants me to design a suppressor so in mind craft he can kill some Guatemala's who's dog bit his kid. I convinced him to just Luigi them in mindcraft. We also settled on machining a cannon not in mind craft that has like a 8" barrel and then scaling up. Wondering if any of the cast has info or where I can get pressure data on muzzle loader powder and projectile so I can do the calc to size the wall. Initial starting small but may end up with like a 1" projectile.

Brian R - I have a 16 inch armalite M15 tactical that I found through deal bro when i was drunk. Its my first AR and I want to put an optic, and foregrip on it. Im not a poor but don't want to spend too much money on it. what do you guys recommend for a short to mid range rifle with an average (at best) shooter? PS Jerremy is a cunt.

Mr Brotein - Sup fellas? I have a zenith zf5. The gun is awesome but it seems to malfunction on the last 2 or 3 rounds in multiple zenith mags. What MP5 mags do you use? Could it be something other then low spring tension? Also I've been listening the monster hunter international series because of y'all. Freaking great.
