August 2--Derived from a Greek word meaning "to interpret,” hermeneutics refers to the art of understanding a biblical text. Each of us has a unique hermeneutical perspective that is informed by our experiences, background, training, and social, cultural, and historical location. The same is true of the Apostle Paul. This two-part lesson attempts to shed light on the various factors and influences that shaped how and why Paul read the Old Testament the way he did.
