A meeting of all stakeholders of the University of Cape Town is expected to be held in a couple of hours to decide the future of a Cecil John Rhodes statue. The meeting will also discuss transformation at the institution. UCT Vice-Chancellor, Max Price says decisions coming out of the meeting will culminate in a proposal to the university council. A group of students has been occupying the main administration block since Friday to support their demands to remove the statue.

Independent Police Investigative Directorate IPID Head Robert Mcbride was suspended yesterday, following a notice of suspension that was served on him by Mnister of Police, Nkosinathi Nlheko. An urgent interdict McBride sought last week, to prevent his suspension from Ipid, was struck off the roll in the High Court in Pretoria. South Africa's national cricket team will take on co-hosts New Zealand for a place in the final of the 2015 Cricket World Cup on in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Following their clinical nine-wicket victory over Sri lanka in last week's quarter-final, Proteas skipper AB de Villiers says the team is oozing confidence before this clash at Eden Park, despite having been knocked out by the Kiwis in the 2011 tournament and their Pool match defeat to Pakistan in Auckland. Just like South Africa, New Zealand have never made it past the semi-final stage of a World Cup. And the Kiwi's, like the Proteas, are hungry for a win in tomorrow's encounter at Eden Park. Black Caps captain Berndon McCullum believes that there won't be much separating the two sides, which have both played some consistent cricket in the past few weeks

Lawyers for Human Rights have approached the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, asking that it removes obstacles which make it difficult for orphaned refugee children to be granted asylum. The Refugee Act does not include orphans in its definition of dependants for purposes of seeking asylum. This means that their aunts or uncles first have to be declared their legal guardians before they can assist these children to get the necessary Asylum Seekers permit

The trial of tennis doubles champion, Bob Hewitt has been postponed to next month. Earlier Hewitt was found guilty on two charges of rape and one of sexual assault. He's been granted 10 thousand rand bail in the Palm Ridge magistrates court, east of Johannesburg.

The Constitutional Court has sanctioned an agreed timetable for the finalisation of the tender process for the multi-billion rand social grant system. In April last year the court ordered the rerun of the tender after it found the tender awarded to Cash Paymaster Service was unlawful. CPS wanted to challenge the new Request for Proposals. But before the matter could be heard, the Social Security Agency promised to address Cash Paymaster's concerns and a new timetable was drawn up. But the Constitutional Court reserved judgment on a contentious part of the order added by the Black Sash Trust. Senior Constitutional Court Reporter, Candice Nolan reports

A third man convicted for the 2002 murder of a police officer will finally have his conviction reconsidered by the Constitutional Court. In May last year, the Constitutional Court rejected Thembekile Molaodzi's appeal because he failed to raise any constitutional grounds. But in a lucky strike, Moloadzi's case will be reconsidered after two others convicted for the same crime raised a constitutional appeal. Senior Constitutional Reporter, Candice Nolan has the details
