Danny urges everybody to be safe as Hurricane Dorian approaches (1:00). He touches on five steps that the Marlins must take heading into 2020 to present a more competitive product at the major league level (6:15), including real investment in veteran players and hiring Don Mattingly’s replacement. The advanced stats paint a mixed yet slightly encouraging picture of Isan Díaz as a major leaguer (32:30). Expect better results in September than we saw in August.

Newly recalled Robert Dugger seized Pitcher of the Week honors in his Marlins Park debut (41:00). Meanwhile, Starlin Castro, Jorge Alfaro and Harold Ramirez all had offensive impact (44:50), though most of that production went for naught during a 1-6 week.

Danny analyzes the upcoming September roster expansion and how the Marlins could and should use it (3:20). Jesús Sánchez, Monte Harrison and Jorge Guzman are among the sexiest call-up candidates, though none of them are believed to be likely selections. Manager Don Mattingly announced that second-year right-hander Pablo López is making his return from a shoulder strain on Monday night (16:25). As you're watching him in the rotation down the stretch, watch closely for three things: comfort, control and complete.

All-Star Sandy Alcantara is the obvious Pitcher of the Week for Miami (36:01). Harold Ramirez, Starlin Castro and others contributed to a much-needed offensive explosion over the weekend (40:27).
