Open Secrets.org estimates that a whopping $16.7 billion dollars were spent on the 2022 elections. Today we get some of our reactions on what did we get? From the Red Splash, split tickets and a whole lot of discontent voters. Listen in and then weigh in with your own takes.
Schools out for the summer!!! So lets talk education! The past year has been extremely challenging for students, educators and parents as we reentered 'normal' school following two years of pandemic disruptions. This month we are putting together a series of shows on Education focusing on Post-Pandemic schooling, mental health in our schools, schools 'safety', student experiences and so much more.
With everything from the pandemic disruption to school shootings its no surprise that 'mental health' in our schools is a hot topic. We were fortunate enough to sit down with Nate Bailly, a Professional School Counselor, who has been practicing in our public schools for the past seven years. We cover the history and evolution of 'school counseling', what counselors actually do vs. what we think they do, where the profession is heading, how parents and professionals can partnered and leverage each other to help students and so much more.
Today we had the great opportunity to sit down with Mark Anderson after completing his first year as the Fergus Falls Senior High Principal. Starting in elementary education and working his way across the country and into administration Mark has built an impressive resume. Joining our local school system 'post' pandemic and facing education challenges he could have never dreamed.
We cover transitioning to 'normal', academics vs. emotional/mental well being, homework, cell phones and more.

Earlier this month the Minnesota Legislative session came to a close with much work done and much work left unfinished. Today we had the pleasure of speaking with Representative Jamie Long (61B) to get some on the ground context of what got done, Special Sessions and the ups and downs of governing a state that is one of only three with a 'divided' government.
Also Canada bans more guns, Fargo tries a new way of voting, the Mona Lisa get a pie in the face and French soccer fans lose their minds in the face of relegation.
