Our parents play a huge role in developing our relationship with food, and it’s common for them to unintentionally eff things up.
In a book called “Good Morning, Monster” by Catherine Gildiner, a psychologist wrote about five patients she saw over her 30 year career. Many of the parents in these stories are awful, and it’s very common to see a pattern of dysfunction across generational lines. And where our mind goes, as always, is food behavior. There are so many things that we should all be doing on a healthy diet, regardless of its restrictions. There’s so much overlap in a healthy vegan diet, omnivorous, and a gluten-free diet.
