Ignite your passion and pursue what excites you!
Ā
(1:22-1:35) You know itās funny, I think I wanted to be a speaker from a very young age but I always like, that is your post entertainment career job like I always knew that after entertainment this would all I would do.Ā
Ā
(1:49-2:08) Thereās no way if you donāt pick up, you know, read a blog or listen to a podcast that you donāt realize that thereās a huge distractive shift that is happening in old media. I couldnāt ignore it anymore and I was like I want to be part of the new wave. I think I always did a kind of no, it was about the timing.
Ā
Ā (2:23-3:07) I think I was definitely exposed to thought leaders all throughout my life, I think I chose to ignore some of the really good advice from thought leaders than just being young and a bit vacuous. I donāt know if itās about that I am always aware that that industry existed but I didnāt know much information about the industry and that took a lot of work. Cause you have to learn an industry before you just jump into it. One big piece of advice if you canāt live doing a full-time hassle and youāre thinking about living for your side hassle, a speaker that you know actually Eric Feng told me that this is the best advice ever, Eric said to me Simone, do not leave your full-time hassle for your part-time hassle until your part-time hassle is earning more than your full-time job.
Ā
Ā What are the challenges you faced?
(3:28-3:38) I think, firstly because of the line of work that you have gone into my first issue is that Iām a minority female speaker and I look quite young for my age.Ā
Ā
(3:57-4:16)Ā I actually found that there are a lot of Singaporean event organizers, conference organizers who are female who wanna see another Asian female on stage and thatās the sisterhood. So theyād actually, really helped me get paid speaking gigs in the last 5 months. Because they also want to see a change too which is fantastic.Ā
Ā
What are the strategies you can give to the thought speaker?
(4:40-4:57) I think firstly, especially if youāre working a full-time job and you want to be a better speaker youāre so blessed in the year 2019 you can order a whole range of incredible public speaking books online. I literally did this for 2 years on the side of my radio because I wanted to learn and to be the best speaker I could be.
Ā
(5:26-5:43) If you donāt have a big budget and youāre just starting out and you have an interest you can do that. Following day, you can employ a public speaking coach and there are a lot on the market. Iām one of them too, I do it but I donāt really publicize itās just that is a side thing to help people and they can really give you the spoke help.
Ā
(6:25-6:40) My third tip would be, be thirsty for knowledge. Just start putting that seed or that gold in your head and itās really interesting once you do that the universe will conspire to find your positions and places where people can help you. So just have that gold in your mind.Ā
Why did you choose to focus on this area?
(7:06-7:28) Firstly, Iāve only just entered the human connections space so please understand Iām like a student of this. I literally studied this and that means that I donāt do it perfectly a hundred percent at a time but I literally go out and interview people whom I believe a public human connections superheroes. So people who donāt get to predict that connections spaces therein.Ā
Ā
(9:26-10:00) The 2020 goal is to write the human connection book and itās going to take a lot of time I think Iām actually talking to some book writing coaches right now, cause I really donāt know the first thing. I know I can write so I did a communications degree and some professional writing units in university but when youāre submitting for the format for the book and all that kind of stuff Iām not really clear. So Iāve peg that as my goal for this year to write a book featuring the case studies of these incredible people that I interviewed and the takeaways that I get from them.
Ā
How do you manage your routine?
(10:37-10:57) I think Iāve got the lovely help of this incredible virtual assistant in Manila and sheās from a fantastic social media start-up course of connected women where it gives jobs to highly educated Filipino women who want to be close to their family so she can work remarkably and help me at my stuff so that helps.Ā
Ā
(12:33-12:47) I can tell you that this is something I think about so much because first you know, I take it lightly and secondly I think thereās a huge change in consciousness now, where people who have a platform do not want to put on nothing into the space.
Ā
(13:07-13:46) Hereās the other thing as well that generating influence is a very lonely space like I am probably very different to most women in that I donāt have this gene in me that I feel that self promotion is a dirty word. So Iāve never had this thing I kind of promote and market like a man and itās a very lonely place to be in, because gradually around the world and even more so in Asia as Asian women it is not further this attractive likeable for a woman to put herself out there and sell herself. But then here to tell you honey, that changes weāve seen force me to in the UK, in America, North America as a continent fort down eventually to get to Asia.
Ā
(13:47-14:34) Well this will no longer be a Stigma and Iām just here to say that I started this before anyone else. Like I just donāt have that fear. As much as gradually, Iām very Asian. The one that really Western about me is that I donāt feel that itās dirty to promote and I know sometimes itās not likeable to everyone but hereās the thing about being a brand, people cannot be apathetic about you so either a lash proportion is a big turn off, they donāt like, itās too much for them, too in their face, Okay! Iām sorry I cannot please everyone. You cannot please everyone. The worst thing you can do is worry your brand down and be vanilla. I have people feel no emotional connection or no reaction to you, donāt care about that!Ā
Ā
(14:34-15:14) You speak to the people who need you and thatās how I sit. I speak to the women who want to be financially independent, who donāt want to be Taytays. The women who are driven by purpose and passion, who are not driven by money. They are the women that I speak to. I speak to the women whoād say itās okay to be a bookworm but also wears sexy clothing, thatās okay. I speak to those women who go there and no limits or barriers. I donāt have to categorize myself and weāre a little bit behind here in Asia with that like weāre still culturally, there is categorization I think everyone in my Asian female coaching clients has a story about being told by an auntie or a mother, Pssh be quiet! Donāt be so loud! Donāt speak up!Ā
Ā
(15:15-15:36) I mean, I grow up like that as well. In order to push out entire gender forward, we have to let a little bit of that go. Iām not saying everyoneās gonna be outspoken as me or as public as you Genecia, thatās not for everyone that in order for us to increase gender equality in Southeast Asia, we have to be a little bit okay and letting that go.Ā
Ā
(16:00-16:11) A soul rich woman is someone who lives with passion and authenticity. And I think thereās a level of bravery source hearing that. Soul rich woman just has a little bit less fear...
FWEP00033 Yolanda Martinez
Ā
Are women powerless?
Ā
Ms. Yolanda shared how she had seen her mother being abused and powerless because of an abusive husband. This strengthens her belief even being a child on what life she would like to have when she grows up and what type of person she wants to welcome her life.
Ā
(00:57-01:16) Today we have someone really empowering, superwoman, power speaker her name is Yolanda and right here in Singapore, we are so honored to have her here to be able to hear her message of what sheās been speaking to the women worldwide. Welcome, Yolanda!
Ā
(01:21-01:47) Well, first of all, I work with my husband Mark Husic. We traveled for the last 11 years doing his show and speaking events but Iāve also had the opportunity to speak and share a little bit about my message and up until about what probably a year ago Iāve had this vision of wanting to speak to women in owning your power and taking it back and stop being a victim.
Ā
(02:21-03:03) I grow up with an abusive father who is an alcoholic and who always used to abuse my mom, never the kids but my mom. And I always thought like she always felt powerless when then retrospected to that she was more powerful than she thought and so I, at a very young age decided that that wasnāt who I was gonna be and so I think from the age of 14, I constantly told myself what kind of relationship I wanted to have when I was older, what kind of person I wanted in my life, what kind of person I was not going to allow in my life.
Ā
Dreaming Big and Making that dream real.
Ā
As a child, we intend to visualize what we wanted to be in the future. We may have dreams, aspirations, and goals even at a young age but how persistent are we to make these dreams into reality? As shared by Ms. Yolanda:
Ā
(03:04-03:30) And so when I got to modeling, it was all because Iād loved fashion and so my mother was the one that side all the documents because my dad was against it and so, at the very young age I knew what I wanted to do and I just pursued it until I accomplish. I wanted to be a teacher so I taught for 10 years. The modeling was always key in my life, the fashion, the shows.
Ā
(03:32-04:08) When I got into modeling full time I did, I was always the one to have a big bag with extra makeup, extra shoes, extra panyos so whenever anybody needed anything, I was the girl two-person so I never thought like I was like in competition with anyone. When you're doing a fashion show, youāre there to showcase the fashion, youāre not there to compete, youāre not gonna win anything at the end of the day so I never felt like I was competing against them. I always thought that the show would be so much better if we just work together so thatās why if somebodyās needed something, I always had it handy.
Ā
(04:35-05:00) I came from a very young age of knowing, I was a migrant worker from the time I was 7 until I was 17 and so I knew that, that wasnāt my life, I knew that was just a job that I had to do in order to buy my own school supplies and my own school clothes so I never took that identity of what I was doing because there was something more than I wanted to do.
Ā
Love, how to keep this burning?
Ā
As we get older, life gives more challenges and with these, love and support from friends and from your partner in life are essential to keep us going. Ms. Yolanda mentioned how to keep this relationship alive and kicking.
Ā
(05:34-05:55) Rituals? I really donāt do rituals. I constantly look at myself not from others point of view but myself so when I look at myself, how do I feel about myself is it positive or negative.Ā
Ā
(06:30-06:51) Yes. I have friends based on what kind of friend I am so if Iām not a very good friend, I know that the people around me are not gonna be good friends that I could depend on.
Ā
(07:51-08:17) Well, this is our first time in Singapore so we came a few days early so that we could go out and explore together because we have never been here so we went out and did things together to get the same view in the city of this beautiful place together. Weāve explored new and even places that heās been to that I havenāt. When we explore it together, itās totally a different feel when you go and do it by yourself.
Ā
(09:03-09:29) I think because he is a good listener and I am very vocal about what I am feeling, I think it helps to have someone that knows where youāre coming from because he knows the mindset, he knows about women and men being so different. That he is able to listen to what I am feeling something even it is a gut feeling about someone that I donāt wanna be around, heāll listen.
Ā
What others see from you should be different in how you see yourself.
Ā
It is what you believe, what you want and how you see yourself matters the most. You should be the influencer of a positive attitude and aura. Ms. Yolanda shared:
Ā
(10:06:10:20) I think the key is knowing who you are, you gotta know who you are and you gotta know that when you show up somewhere, show up 100%. Donāt show up saying Oh maybe, Iāll sit and see what happens here.Ā
Ā
(11:06-11:30) Always talk to yourself in a positive way. It doesnāt matter if you had a bad night or you got a nap and itās early and youāre not ready to get up. I know Robbinsās book itās called 5-second rule so you have 5 seconds to decide, are you gonna get out of bed or you gonna lay at bed whole day because thatās all it takes, it takes 5 seconds for you to make that change in your life.
Ā
(11:44-12:14) The last point I think is donāt play into societyās vision of who you are. Too many times, with all those traumatic things happened in our past, in our childhood, in our teens, it doesnāt matter when you give someone when you give something that power, you donāt have the power then. Youāre giving it away so take your power back. Donāt let society dictate who you are.
Ā
Women are as powerful as men.
Ā
Women and men should not be competing on who is more powerful. We can go hand by hand on helping society and future children. Ms. Yolanda explained:
Ā
(12:30-12:50) Right now, Iāve got a program that Iāve put together and itās for women and itās about confidence, itās about mindset and itās about owning who you are so itās called 21 days with Yolanda. You go on the website 21dayswithyolanda.com. So, we have a facebook page that they could go on.Ā
Ā
(14:06-14:30) I think online itās easy because you could portray anything. You could say anything. My thing is, we need to disconnect ourselves from being online so much and connect ourselves back to society and so one of the things I talk about in my program is put down your phones and go up and meet people.
Ā
(16:58) I think anyone that steps into themselves and feels great about themselves that reflection will be given to everybody whether its female or male. I used to work at conventions and the people I used to work with, clients, will always tell me when you walk into the convention center itās like everybody stops because of the way that you walk in like really? I just walked in and like, no, itās the way you present yourself when you ...

Dr. Kamakshi shared with us how her journey as a fashion stylist started. Her journey really proves that thereās no impossible if you work hard for it.Ā
Ā
(02:32- 2:48) My journey started when I started garments nationally in India. Fashion styling has been my passion since childhood gradually Iām collaborating with my brother and together we are doing a couple of events.Ā
Ā
(3:04-3:25) I am actively working for all-round development for females who are actively involved in the business, education, service, or social endeavors. Iām doing this as it is my regime and mission to see women getting empowered across the globe.
Ā
The struggles she encountered
Each of us faces problems in life, but do not let the problem stop you. Every experience has the knowledge to impart to us in the end.Ā
Ā
(3:40-4:20) Definitely, everyone faces struggles, and I too, I am also facing and I must say my greatest struggle has been ever dominating male-driven society and all those who cannot take knowledge of women rising beyond prescribed it limits of the society. Actually, I was previously a housewife for 14 years. So a housewife turning in an entrepreneur is not taken positively by the same my society what we can say. So this is the thing I always face as a struggle.Ā
Ā
(04:42) My family, my brother and my friends they all help me to overcome this society to motivate me to work and always encouraged me to overcome these struggles and definitely with towards motivating people my hard work and dedication because I want to show this world are the real power of women this is the main motivation which I come with my all friends, my brother, my family and all. These all were with me to motivate all the time.
Ā
(5:44-6:07) I would say that my greatest success is the international penetration of my programs. Like if you talk about my shows I do events we are into kids events which include competitions related to singing, fashion, dancing, drawing, instrumental poetry, theaters, and many more which is coming on national TV also.
Ā
(6:46-7:27) When I launched my Aesthetics International Council for Progressive Women my organization in 2018 I started with the regime to empower women throughout the world and now with the starting of 2020, I could see my dream is fulfilling. Itās my organization as Aesthetics International Council for Progressive Women has spread its a wing for more than 25 countries with fifteen hundred plus numbers. This I think is big I wanted to do, my mission is not yet accomplished but still I could see I would be able to do it definitely.
Ā
Business Tips
A woman who has vision knows what she is doing, she empowers women and teaches them to grow more and cross the fence of weakness.
Ā
(7:46-8:06) Women should have a realistic vision, they should have a desire to succeed and strong leadership command these are the three tips, business tips I would like to suggest to a woman.Ā
Ā
(8:28-8:41) My inner circle always has people who are positive in nature dedicated to the organization's vision and can build of love into leaders.
Ā
(9:07-9:17) Power struggles are always there. I have to manage my family, my work in such a way that the mutual egos are satisfied.
Ā
(12:21-12:52) Every woman, whoās generating a power who is the power of being a woman who can learn things from others, who is not facing any jealous problem, who can empower other women every woman who is generating power and has crossed the fence all woman I can say are the one.Ā

Value and give compliment
Working is not an easy task, you need to give effort, quality and productivity for you to be noticed. But the most important thing when you are working is to be happy with your job. Because when you are happy and you love what you do, you will achieve success.Ā
Ā
(2:14-2:50) One of the things thatās part of my management philosophy I always choose people and role where their strength, their passion cross because I think thatās where they do the maximum amount that I put at the state of happiness. So for my leadership standpoint, from the recruitment standpoint I would first start-up with selecting people that really adhere to the wall that they are happy to spend the bulk of their time doing so. Thatās more recruitment leadership.
Ā
(3:29-3:55) It is certainly unusual in the sense that Iām in a technology space. Thereās not a lot of it in the US thereās not a lot of leaders in the technology space in the Sea Sweet. And so part of it, itās being used to stand up for yourself. Knowing that what you know deliver results for the company thatās important. And really be authentic.
Ā
Woman as a leader
Do not dream about success, but work for it. Always think of positive things in order for you gain the trust and respect of your followers.
Ā
(4:13-4:29) Being woman, one of the things, especially after having children, it's your ability to compartmentalization and being extremely efficient at work and so when I think about my day today work each hour I allocated based on what I think is the priority for the day.Ā
Ā
(4:56-5:11) If you choose family it does not mean that you are no longer an executive. I think there's a couple things that you need to look at. One, itās choosing a partner who truly respect who you are, this is your life partner and support what you want to be as a person. The second thing itās stand, choose a company that also respect who you are and what you can deliver and the values that you bring to the table and understand that youāre not giving out who you are as far your own personal value. Just to be the hundred percent always at work.Ā
Ā
(8:54- 09:08) Find a mentor within the organization as well as outside of the organization. Now that mentor is not necessarily need to be a female, although sometimes it could be helpful for someone who you would like to be years from now.

FWEP00030 Imelda Dagus
Ā
In this episode, we have our very special guest her name is Imelda Dagus. She is the Founder of Dennis Coffee Garden and an awardee of inspiring Filipina Entrepreneurs in 2017 and Outstanding ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs in 2018.
Ā
Ā
How podcast change Imeldaās life
Touching people through your story is a great pleasure you may have in life. Being an inspiration to someone you didnāt know means more.Ā
Ā
(00:58-1:50) The podcast impacted my life instantly. I truly agree that a podcast is not only about building online presence but most importantly online credibility. I realized that my message impacted more people that I never thought it could. I even have a friend in high school who commented on my post that I am her idol. This is coming from a lady whom I have never been communicating with for the past 30 years. My son appreciated my efforts to launch a podcast and touch people and he told me that he cried with joy. That is something I never thought that would happen.Ā
Ā
(2:06-2:42) One friend also mentioned that what I am doing is a big thing for my generation and some friends are now showing interest in buying my book. On the first day I attended the workshop I actually told Genecia that I wanted to write a book so she offered that I can do a podcast instead. Because it is faster to reach more people and the voice is more powerful than a book. To which I agreed.
Ā
(3:04-3:34) But when I realized that I can actually earn more the moment I have built my reputation online, by showing up and having my voice heard people will come to know who I am and what I stand for and people will support me, more people will come to my coffee shop, more people will patronize my book, more people would like to invest with me because they can see how authentic I am.Ā
Ā
The importance of support
You should have someone who are there to support you throughout your journey. It will make you build your confidence in inspiring other people by sharing the story of your life.
Ā
(4:14-4:34) I am not into a podcast person so I thought I could not do it. But when Genecia explained to me they will support and guide me, my worry disappeared. Having the whole Soul Rich Woman team behind me melted my fears away.Ā
Ā
(5:40-6:11) I had fears on the outcome of my podcast, how will people react? Will they be inspired? Or will I be criticized? Those mind freaks we normally face when doing something new for the first time. But because I sincerely believe that I need to get my message across to people who would need to listen to it I took action in spite of fear.
Ā
(6:33-6:53) I still went ahead with everything that is coming from my heart. The understanding that I intention is to share and inspire and not to criticize or destroy other people's lives gave me the courage to go out and do the podcast.Ā
Ā
Focus on what you love
If you want to be successful on your goal, focus to it. Keep working hard to achieve that success you want to have. It might be hard, but think of why you have started.Ā
Ā
(7:27- 7:42) If you want something big and impactful you have to allocate it big energy and big focus to make it happen and you have to set it as your number one priority.Ā
Ā
(8:28-9:05) Having your family and friends to support you in what you are doing and giving you the understanding of the journey you wish to embark on is already a great encouragement. Not to mention that having the Soul Rich Woman team is your rocket launcher. Knowing that you have people behind you who will look after your best interest and following up on you so that you will not fall to your little voices that keeps ringing inside your head is a great support.
Ā
(10:15-10:39) I also believe that exposure is magic. Now that I have exposed my story, I realized that people are actually appreciating what I did. Had I continued to hide under my fears I would have not touched people's hearts. And most importantly my familyās hearts.Ā

The start of podcasting
If you believe in yourself that you can do it. It will truly happen. We might not be that positive thinker at the beginning but then we still try. Just share what you have in your heart.
(5:11-5:36) It is a great sense of achievement for me to have completed the whole season, a whole season of every youāve met us. It was something that I really wanted to do for long, long time. And when I first launched it I was so overwhelmed and touched by the responses I received.Ā
(06:06-6:30) There were several others who congratulated me for my efforts and they say that wow! This is long time coming we need to hear your voice and we want your voice to be heard far, far wide. Wow this is amazing and it was truly a fantastic experience for me.Ā
(7:01-7:46) Why would a podcast like this carry on? Or in the first place take off. So firstly, podcasting the term podcasting during my time when I first started out there was no such thing like podcasting so what on earth is a podcast? So it has this image that is very difficult thing to do. It is something very difficult but honestly I tell you itās only a sound board that is connected to some storage devise and with some buttons and there you have, you can have your voice heard and shared.Ā
Who want to Listen?
Here comes the negativity, thinking that you are new into this career you donāt have the confidence in you at the beginning. But after doing it for some time you will start loving what you started.
(9:37-9:54) Actually I just some of the statistics of my shows that came out initially wow! There are people a hundreds. Well, you have a story and therefore there is someone who might want to listen.
(10:03-10:37) But hello podcast, podcast goes out to the internet to the World Wide Web and they will listen. Next one, not boring me. Well, what is boring? Boring, whatās the opposite of boring itās not exciting itās fulfilling you never know that you doesnāt have to have excitement but you can be fulfilling because your story, your story may touch a heart out there. You never know.Ā Through podcasting youāll never know it can do it. It can do it.Ā
(10:44-11:15) There so much resource out there, what so special about yours? Well, once again itās connected to your story and your story is unique. Your story is special, now even at this point as you are listening Iām sure you have a story, Iām sure you have a story itās just that maybe it hasnāt come out or maybe you donāt know how to tell. So Iām just gonna give you a preview right now through podcasting you can actually do it.Ā
Think of what you want to do
Every story captures a heart, just share it and donāt think of negative things. Accept the challenges that will come to you and learn from it.
(12:57-13:36) Go with the flow, tell your story. Now, one big objection I may have as a guy because Iām using Soul Rich Woman, someone may ask. Well John whatās a guy like you doing with Soul Rich Woman? My answer would be it doesnāt matter because they get it done and they get it done well, and they get it done right, and they get it done so efficient so who cares right Soul Rich Woman, well I feel my soul has been enriched by Soul Rich Woman.
(13:44-12:57) You can do it too! If you have a story and when you think nobody else want to listen, Iām saying it doesnāt matter to me now. Guess what, I have a legacy to live.
Key Takeaways:
1.Ā Ā Ā Ā Let your voice be heard.
2.Ā Ā Ā Ā Your story is unique and special.
3.Ā Ā Ā Ā Everything is possible.
4.Ā Ā Ā Ā Accept challenges.
5.Ā Ā Ā Ā Age is just a number.

The beginning of journey.
Doing your passion doesnāt mean itās easy. You need to do everything you can to have a good output.Ā
Ā
3:12- 3:27 I always knew that I wanted to do a podcast but I didnāt know how to start. But sometimes I thought itās easy just get yourself a microphone and you start recording yourself at home.
Ā
4:55-5:06 Knowing that this is something that I really want and this is something that I really want to accomplish I need my concentration, I need to focus.Ā
Ā
7:02-7:28 Thatās when I come and refrain myself you know, my mind, and I start saying that I am enough, I can do it. Itās all in me. So for every episodes, there are every episodes that itās easy to me. But some episodes, it takes a while for me to think about what I should be talking about.
Ā
Nothing is impossible
In your career, there are people who will discourage you. Donāt entertain them. Instead, be with people who will support you throughout your journey.
Ā
7:34-7:52 I think sometimes you just need to put yourself into that situation and in order for you to get the deuces out. Sometimes you canāt really be prepared because when you be prepared youāre so stiff and you don't really get your honesty out.
Ā
8:09-8:26 I always thought that my husband will object me to come to Singapore to do all this kind of project and stuff like that, cause he is a man of results, he wants to see results but he is quite supportive of me.
Ā
15:31-15:49 I finally see the connection of all my knowledge of all my experience and all my relationship, how they have actually supported me and made me to the woman I am today.Ā (18)
Ā
Key Takeaways:
1.Ā Ā Itās hard in the beginning
2.Ā Ā Focus on your goal
3.Ā Ā Be firm and honest
4.Ā Ā Surround yourself with supportive people
5.Ā Ā Think positive

FWEP00027 Elisha Tan
Ā
In this episode we have a very special guest, her name is Elisha Tan she is best known as the co-founder of TechLadies. A community-led initiative for women in Asia to connect, learn, and grow in the tech industry.
Ā
Share Your Story To Inspire, Be Bold To Become Who You Are & Live Your Dreams
Ā
If there is something you want to pursue, live with it. Be strong to accomplish it. Sometimes sacrificing is the best to achieve what you dream off. If you succeed, share with others your experience and inspire them to pursue their dream, no matter what.
Ā
(01:19-02:14)
I guess, everything was quite a sacrifice. If you want something, you have to give up something.Ā I have sacrificed my life. It is not easy but itās somewhat very rewarding.Ā I do think that if you want to see something happen, you need to hustle.
Ā
The beginning of pursuing passion
Ā
Sometimes it takes time for us to realize what we want. When we find it, try to grab it immediately. If it fails then try again. Try and try until you finally succeed.
Ā
(02:16-02:57)
When I was in between jobs, that was before Facebook, I thought why donāt I just do something that Iām very passionate at. Where does my heart lie? What do I want to see happen in my community? When it started, I wasnāt sure what it was. I just try it, if it fails then letās pretend it didnāt happen. So thatās how it gets started.
Ā
(04:00-05:08)
So when I learn how to decode, that when it opens my eyes to the tech community. One thing is that, when you hustle, people respect your real passion and see your hard work. If you meet somebody, they will hate us. There are people whoāll discredit you. There are whoāll think you will not succeed. First of all, you donāt need to shut all of it out. A way for you to grow is to be able to take healthy criticism.Ā
Ā
Helping others
Share to others your secrets of how you succeed. Help, empower and inspire them to pursue it.
Ā
(06:06-06:28)
I can outsource and help people with technology. That is something I want to do. A lot of people have a passion for giving back, but they donāt know āhowā. So a way for me to do that is to give them a structure, so they can contribute as well. Itās more about asking for help and giving them direction on how they can help.Ā
Ā
(08:14-18:26
The good thing is that I donāt have kids, that is my one major thing that is off my plate. That also gives me a chance to learn how to manage my time.Ā
Ā
Be authentic, donāt be afraid
One thing you need to learn in life is to be you. Donāt be afraid of what others may say. Help those who need your help.Ā
Ā
(10:30-11:03)
What Iāve learned is to be authentic. Show some personality. Let people know you. Ā Because I feel that a lot of people like to hide behind a screen. Let people know you, show your personality. Donāt be rude. Also, be a good person.Ā
Ā
(11:38-12:12)
I started blogging about my life. That how I found myself sharing what I believe and what my dreams are. Thatās why I realize there are haters out there. But sharing a story, your supporter gets to know you as well because people starting believe in you and your dreams thatās why they want to help.
Ā
(12:21-13:04)
I agree that a lot of women are shy. Theyāre not use in talking about themselves. You can start sharing on your Facebook wall, it does not have to be entirely public, it just be on your wall. Let people know you. Then afterward people get inspired by you, they want to support you.Ā
Ā
(13:32-13:50)
Just start somewhere. If you fail, just pretend it didnāt happen. Itās okay to fail, donāt be too hang-up about it.Ā

FWEP00026 Joanne Lee
In this episode, we have our very special guest her name is Joanne Lee. Joanne Lee is a mother of three teenagers, she is also known for being a podcast coach, professional make-up artist, beauty trainer, and leader of excellence of Soul rich woman 2019.
The start of building confidence
If you are starting a business, we cannot deny the fact that there are doubts running in your head. You sometimes think of negative things. But when you start doing your passion and give the best of yourself thatās the moment you will keep on doing what you want.
Ā
(1:13- 1:52) This podcast show has not only impacted my life it has also transformed my life completely. It has helped build my online presence and also my online credibility. After launching my podcast I immediately receive inquiries and I have led to follow-up and this is something which I have always been struggling to get ever since I started my business way back three years ago. So now I no longer have to go out to look for my target audience instead they come looking for me.Ā
Ā
(1:55-2:15) And so now all the tables have been turning around for me I have many friends who might not be contacted me for a very long time they do direct message me to either congratulate me and also ask me what I was doing. Ask me about my business and if I could speak to them more. They are so interested in what I was doing. They really want to seem successful for themselves.
Ā
They got interested in what I do
Itās nice when there are people who are interested in what you are doing. Itās nice to influence other people with good things.
Ā
(4:16-4:32) And now, even my children take an interest in what I do. They will listen to my pre-recordings, my podcast, and even say they want to give me some feedback or review of what they think. So this is something very special for me because previously when I was doing all my stuff they are not interested in what I was doing.Ā
Ā
(5:04) So they are very interested, they want to make sure they want to help me. So they want to give me advice they want to give me feedback on how I could present myself even better and get more success. So this is really pretty awesome! So when Genecia first propose the idea of podcasting to me I really do not think of what I was in for, so I agree because I trust her.
Nothing is impossible
When you believe in yourself, the impossible becomes possible. Love what you do and give your best to it, it will surely result to success.
(7:41-8:00) Why follow when you can lead? Upon hearing this I understood that nothing bad will happen to me. Sure definitely, you lose some faith you feel shy but seriously nothing bad will happen to me.Ā
(10:08-10:14) Perfectionism overcame me but luckily I have my mentor beside me.
(10:36-10:41) Just focus on doing one thing, we can really achieve the impossible.Ā

FWEP00025 Cindy Wang
Hello gorgeous! Welcome to todayās episode. In this episode we have a very special guest her name us Cindy Wang she is the CMO of UXINgroup. Cindy was Head of Marketing of Uber China in Beijing. Cindy has extensive experience in strategy, M&A and entrepreneurship. She has worked in Oliver Wyman and Booz&Company, covering Auto and TMT sectors.
Ā A shift in company culture
Ā When Cindy came back to China to work, she experienced a shift of work culture. This is what she shared:
Ā
Ā (02:47 - 02:55)Ā And of course I was working always for International companies and it is my first Chinese company, for me to go back home.
Ā
Ā (2:56 - 3:01) So culture wise itās a bit different than before, for example when I was working in Silicon Valley, it is very open.
Ā
Ā (3:05 - 3:09)Ā For women, you always had a lot of opportunities to talk, to share your opinions.
Ā
Ā (3:11 - 3:14)Ā Where in China, itās a bit traditional.
Ā
Ā (3:19 - 3:21)Ā Weāre not playing a lot of important roles as men
Ā
Ā (3:23 - 3:42)Ā But weāre changing that, for example in my company, in my team because weāre marketing department, weāre most innovative and creative aspect of the company. I have 70% of women work in my team and they have very great background, international working and education experience and they are young and pretty and they are smart.
Ā
Ā How to lead as a woman
Ā
Being a leader and a woman at that here are some advice that she shared to help all women out there seeking to take on a leadership position in their company or in society:
Ā
(3:53 - 4:09)Ā I think first you definitely need to have courage. For example I spent most of my time working overseas, especially Middle East and in Europe and especially in Middle East, a male dominant society, so I learned how to survive.
Ā
Ā (4:23 - 4:46)Ā Two, I think first you need to really be confident , speak and share your opinions in front of, no matter whom and secondly you need to leverage our strengths. You know, to be nice and very high EQ and IQ to communicate, so I think that is something you want to, itās like the key success factors for women to become a leader.Ā
Ā (4:47 - 4:53) And last but not the least, be curious in your life all the time, then you can keep young.
Ā
Ā The new generation and success
Ā
She feels honored to work with fresh minds and it is very inspiring to hear her share how she views success:Ā
Ā (5:30 - 5: 39) Those young generation they have really their own strengths and they are really brave and they have very clear vision to change the society and change the world.
Ā
Ā (5:49 - 6:14) I think that success is not something you want to compare with a hero , itās not something you want to compare with Mark Zuckerberg or all the leaders --- Elon Musk. I donāt think you should call it a success. Success, does not have a bench mark. As long as you are happy for yourself , as long as you think you are satisfied with all the progress and efforts you have made so far, I think then you can call it a success.
Ā
Ā Important views in work and skills
Here Cindy Wang shares some of the importance of what she does and how sheās able to do them:
(6:19 - 06:41) Because Iām working in a tech company, I think marketing is the eyes of the company because the marketing personnel always need to have very forward thinking and the most creative mind to bring all the time the new ideas and a source of energy to the company. Itās extremely important not only for me but also for the tech world.
(06:47 -07:05)Ā I just finished a very interesting branding campaign to put our brand in the latest transformer 5 international the movie so I know itās not a really successful movie but I think our product placement is super successful.
And when asked what her best skill is, this is what she shared:
(8:09 - 8:33) Innovative mindset, so I try to keep myself absorbing all the fresh ideas from different people, from different industry and also from different activities, youāre doing for example I love travelling and I travel to more than 90 countries, I think thatās the greatest way for me to be really open and to keep fresh ideas and keep fresh mind all the time.
Hardest choice as a woman leader
Ā
Circumstance wonāt always be by your side and as a leader you will be bound to make tough decisions. Cindy was not exempted:
Ā
Ā (8:47 - 09:26)Ā I think the toughest challenge is to keep the talent in your team. I think thereās always a challenge for me because if you think about how much effort you put when you train a young person in your team. From knowing nothing to become a really capable manager and then one day he or she will tell you : āOh sorry, I want to go to somewhere elseā Now, you can be really sad and youāre trying to give him or her all the rational reasons to try to keep him to stay. That is for me is a challenging, TALENTS--- finding and keeping talents.
Ā
Ā Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs
Ā
Hereās what we can learn from Cindy and what she has achieved in her career:
Ā
Ā (10:10 - 10:22) I think you should always be brave to try out new things and donāt be afraid to fail. LIke the failures will always give you new strength for your bright future.Ā
Ā
Key Takeaways:
1.Ā Ā Ā Always look for an opportunity
2.Ā Ā Ā Have courageĀ
3.Ā Ā Ā Make tough decisions
4.Ā Ā Ā Donāt be afraid to fail.
5.Ā Ā Ā Absorb fresh ideas
