  • Brand New Terminators and Ultramarines HQ Units Coming Your Way

You will either want these new models or you’ll likely be playing against them soon.  The Space Marines are getting some pretty cool reinforcements.  If you play Ultramarines you are likely over the moon.  If you play any other Space Marines it is time to shine up your Crux Terminatus’.

    Hey folks,

Please consider grabbing an FTN T-shirt to help us celebrate the shows anniversary. The link can be found here. Proceeds will go to doing something nice for cast members of the show. The sticker is cool too and has been on my laptop for a year.  It’s the best sticker I’ve ever owned.

We also started a Patreon for the FTN show.  This will help us a lot in the form of being able to hire an editor and a few other things.   If it is anywhere within your ability to support us on that platform please consider doing so. The link is right here.

I hate to say this but at the time of this recording we did not have the rules in hand that were published on the Warhammer Community site. You can check them out as you listen.  Games Workshop was very kind and did send us the models to review for free.  #adwip  The models are awesome.  These larger terminators will be a welcome site on the table and fun to paint as well.  I never get tired of painting Red marines, ha!

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

Marneus is a tank, of course, but I think most of the focus will be on the new Vitrix Guard configuration.  You’ll be able to take up to 6 models and you  can load in Cato S as well.  These guys are durable, giving another 4 wound per model unit to move around that are also OC2!  That is very strong when you pair that with their 2+ save.  This will be a hard as nails unit to shift off of objectives.

They also put out a truck load of attacks so they will be fearlessly taking objectives from you.  Wow.  You really can make an super elite Marine force with a ton of ground pounders that will also look incredibly cool on the battlefield.

We’re delighted to continue to represent Discount Games Inc as sponsor of our show. They are helping bring FTN to you. Please check them out and support the organizations that support us. Discount Games Inc. offers Games Workshop products at 15% off the suggested retail at their website here. You can send an email to the owner Jay. These guys run a podcast too! Check them out.

The hobby segment is about textures and being ‘brave’ enough to use them sparingly around the models.  We also talk about creating textures where there are none and using paint/acrylics with a slight amount of texture in them to give some great effects on your models.  We show off some of them too. We have some t-shirts a really cool sticker up for sale to celebrate us being nine years deep into this show. Check them out here.

  • White Scars and Iron Hands Detachment Review – NEW stuff 2025

We are back!  Several of us had some crazy times over the last few weeks and we talk about it a little bit at the end of the show.  The front half of the show runs down the Iron Hands detachment and the second half is all about the White Scars.  Lots of good stuff!

    Hey folks,

Please consider grabbing an FTN T-shirt to help us celebrate the shows anniversary. The link can be found here. Proceeds will go to doing something nice for cast members of the show. The sticker is cool too and has been on my laptop for a year.  It’s the best sticker I’ve ever owned.

The cool thing about the detachments we talk about this episode is that they are extremely themed and don’t pull any punches.  If you like the commonly accepted play style of the Chapters we talk about here you are going to love these detachments.

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

You get to use the Space Marine units you like and the ones that seem to fit the best with the chapter while also getting some cool rules and Stratagems to tie them all together.  They have me wanting to paint some up!

Games Workshop graciously provided us with these rules in advance to review for free. We give our unbiased reviews.

  • Codex Drukhari 2025 Review – NEW STUFF! – Is It Powerful and Painful Enough?

Adam and Red hold this down while Paul and Tanya are away.  They talk about the brand new Codex Drukhari up for preorder today.  There is a lot of stuff in here that doesn’t work the way it did before.  Is it better?  You decide!

    Hey folks,

Please consider grabbing an FTN T-shirt to help us celebrate the shows anniversary. The link can be found here. Proceeds will go to doing something nice for cast members of the show. The sticker is cool too and has been on my laptop for a year.  It’s the best sticker I’ve ever owned.

New models, new rules.  What is not to like?  Games Workshop sent us a copy of the rules for free and we are happy to talk about them.

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

Adam and Red were nice enough to make the show happen while the rest of us were away this week and I’m glad they did.  We get to hear about the new Drukhari going up for pre-order this week.

Some stuff has definitely changed and some stuff just isn’t there anymore.  We’ve come to expect that as the game and the philosophy evolves over time.  Did it effect you?

  • FTN Episode 551 – Did The Balance Dataslate Work For You? September 2025 Update

The Balance Dataslate kinda took us by surprise but we’re here to break it down.  The winners and the balanced.  Did you get an upgrade?  A lot of folks did and there are some factions that are due to be better than ever.

    Hey folks,

Please consider grabbing an FTN T-shirt to help us celebrate the shows anniversary. The link can be found here. Proceeds will go to doing something nice for cast members of the show. The sticker is cool too and has been on my laptop for a year.  It’s the best sticker I’ve ever owned.

Adeptus Mechanicus are going to be nice!  I am very much looking forward to that faction getting an infusion with a Primarch level upgrade on Cawl.  I mean… he’s 10k years old.  He’s learned a few tricks.

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

The Death Guard are surprisingly untouched.  Maybe the idea is that the points changes from a few weeks back are enough.  I think it might be too since a lot of other factions are getting a lift.  My beloved Blood Angels got a little bump on the Sanguinary Guard.  A little point lift too, but that’s ok.

We briefly talk about the Votann as well.  They are getting some nice play, especially over in Europe where they seem to be the most popular.

Folks just have two weeks to wait to get these brand new models in their hands.  The Helsmiths meld magic and machine to bring some really cool game concepts to the table.  Games Workshop was kind enough to provide us with a copy of the army box to review. #adwip

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

We go over some of the high level stuff about the army and talk quite a bit about Spearhead and how that game mode is a fabulous way to get into Age of Sigmar if you aren’t already.

Paul painted up one of the new war machines and shows it off a little bit on the youtube channel.

  • FTN Episode 549 – The Imperial Knights are Here! Are They Just As Good? Better?

The whole crew is back this week and we run down the detachments and big changes for the Imperial Knights.  They are different than they are today but are they just as good?  Maybe better?  They have a LOT of options and new ways to play.

    Hey folks,

Please consider grabbing an FTN T-shirt to help us celebrate the shows anniversary. The link can be found here. Proceeds will go to doing something nice for cast members of the show. The sticker is cool too and has been on my laptop for a year.  It’s the best sticker I’ve ever owned.

One of the things about Imperial Knights is how absolutely awesome they are to build, paint and play with.  It draws you in.. people love these things!  Me included.  I play both Chaos and Imperial Knights because they look so darn cool.  Games Workshop was kind enough to provide us with a copy of the codex to review. #adwip

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

No matter how ‘good’ the rules are people would still collect these impressive kits.  Luckily, the rules are fun to play with as well and this codex is no exception.  Each detachment has some fun flavor and a ‘reason’ you may want to play with it.  There is a lot of variance in why you might take a certain Knight chassis as well.  We really dig it.

What is that sweet list?  We aren’t sure yet.  A lot of chatter has people already figuring out how to include the Forge World Knights in their roster.  Is it time for the biggest of the big to make an appearance?  Find out next week…

  • FTN Episode 548 – The Point Changes for The Knights and Death Guard Are Here! Is it Enough?

Red and Paul are back to it while the others are traveling. We’re talking about the point changes revealed this week and not all of us are convinced it is enough to stem the dominance of these factions.  What do you think?

    Hey folks,

Please consider grabbing an FTN T-shirt to help us celebrate the shows anniversary. The link can be found here. Proceeds will go to doing something nice for cast members of the show. The sticker is cool too and has been on my laptop for a year.  It’s the best sticker I’ve ever owned.

I am of the mind that the point changes are significant because you start the game with ‘less’ on the table and we play a game where the extra units here and there really really matter, especially late game.

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

Fewer units means fewer opportunities to score points – maybe – and that means fewer wins.  Remember, this game isn’t just about blasting your opponent off the table.

Death Guard and Knights of both flavors are taking a hit and we’re going to get some results from events this weekend.

  • FTN Episode 547 – Kill Team Tournament Recap from the LSO – Yes, that LSO.. Everyone Else Was Having a Great Time

Red regales us with his exploits from the LSO this past weekend where he played in a KT Tournament with his son.  Pretty cool when you can spend a weekend rolling dice, and he tells us about it.  Then we talk about alternate ways to play again in the back segment.

Traveling to events is still the highlight of my gaming activities.  Getting to play with your own child is even more special.  Red got to do just that and he tells us about it on the show.  This was at the LSO where some drama went down, it’s all over the internet but we don’t dip into that and trust the organizers to sort it out.

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

The rest of the event seemed to go really well.

I built a Monolith with my youngest as well so I guess this episode is mostly about getting to do some hobby stuff with your kids..  Maybe we should do a whole episode about that, ha!

GenCon is a can’t miss for me now.  I was a hold out for a bunch of years, never even thinking it was possible. Now I go and get to spend time as an exhibitor talking about Warhammer.

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

I had the pleasure of running Kill Team demos for most of the convention and got to see people take their first steps into miniature wargaming.  We had a blast.  Running these types of things reminds you just how fun the hobby is sometimes. The aspect of building, painting, playing and making laser sounds when you roll the dice.  Love it!

Red was over at the activity center where we had tons of people getting to share in some things completely unique to GenCon.  These are in the open gaming area and we totally suggest you put it on your list if you haven’t already.   Later in the show Tanya talks about something she is kicking off with MiniWargaming later this month and you’re gonna want to tune into their channel for more details.

We’re delighted to continue to represent Discount Games Inc as sponsor of our show. They are helping bring FTN to you. Please check them out and support the organizations that support us. The Hobby segment will be back next week. We have some t-shirts a really cool sticker up for sale to celebrate us being nine years deep into this show. Check them out here.

  • FTN Episode 545 – Black Templars and Grey Knight Codex First Looks

We get to crack open the Black Templars and Grey Knight codex.  There is some great stuff here and then some stuff that has us scratching our heads.  We find the power and hopefully get you excited about putting these forces back on the table.

    Hey folks,

In the Black Templar section we discover the Oath of the Moment is gone gone for them.  Does that mean they no longer serve the Emperor?   Settle down.. they do, and they have a bunch of other ways to get re-rolls and might be as potent as ever.

I’m pleased to say we have a link for the official Warhammer Merchandise Store!  Check out our link here if you plan on picking up something!

Some folks are lamenting that the 20 man squads lost some of their weight since we see them in other  codexes but I’m not sure I feel the same way.

In the Grey Knight section we regret to inform you that Draigo and  Stern are no longer options in the codex.  They will just have to live in our hearts.
