Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing comments made by NFL executive and former Philadelphia Eagle Troy Vincent, who compared the NFL combine to a ‘slave auction.’ Dom takes umbrage with this comparison, with both him and Producer Dan asking what would be less objectionable than a standard combine. Then, Dom tells about a glitch in Philadelphia’s Police Department’s homicide count that spiked them closer to 500, adding 8 murders overnight. After that, Dom takes some calls from listeners, discussing whether politics have colored their opinion of the NFL. Also, Dom speaks out against tinted windows after a story of a listener getting carjacked, and listeners offer their opinions on the matter.
Then, Dom welcomes former Pennridge School President Joan Cullen returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss some questionable requirements for graduation from the School District. In an op-ed penned and sent to multiple local news outlets, Cullen writes of a new requirement that reduces the necessary credits in social studies from 4 to 3, in the process eliminating their World History course. Cullen and Giordano discuss what this means for students in the district, also discussing another course that was eliminated, personal finance, and the political implications of such a change to curriculum.
