Week #5 of the Frankie and Jess Podcast. Frankie and Jess talked to one of the BEST (if not THE best) mascots in any sports franchise, Jon Absey, former Utah Jazz Bear. Part 1 of a 2-part conversation. Jon shared his life story about growing up in a small little town near the Canadian border, going into the service and how he got into being a team mascot that ultimately brought him to the Utah Jazz. Jon also shared a couple of scary moments that could've gotten him, and other people killed performing mascot stunts. He shared regrets he has as a father of three daughters. Jon shared some sweet stories about late Jazz owner, Larry H. Miller. And how the organization changed after he passed away. Jon also shared his story about being fired. A very relatable situation. Such a great conversation. Thank you, Jon, for 2 plus decades of dedication to the Jazz and to the community of Utah.
