This week's portion covers Genesis/Beresheet 12:1-17:27 and begins, “And יהוה said to Abram, Go yourself out of your land, from your relative and from your father's house, to a land which I show you."In this week's Torah portion, Pastor Richard teaches about Abraham and shows that he is in the lineage of King David. Abraham crossed over as a convert into the Jewish faith. Abraham left behind all that he knew: his birth place, his idols, his way of life. He embraced the Jewish faith and detached from who he used to be. He crossed over. HaShem says that He spoke to Abraham and Abraham answered Him back. In the reading of our scripture, we see that the sin of the world had finally reached to Heaven and Hashem decided to wipe out all creation, save eight. But unrighteousness still existed, then just as it does now. In this week's Torah portion we learn about why we build fences around the Torah. The world was extremely wicked, so Hashem raised up a leader to guide, lead, and instruct the world to His Torah. Noah was to restore righteousness and bring life to a wicked world. It was delivered on September 21, 2021, and is out of Leviticus 22:26-23:44. Pastor Richard focuses his teaching on 23:1-2 which read, "And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, 'Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, "The appointed times of יהוה, which you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, My appointed times, are these:"'" and 23:34-36 which read, "Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh new moon is the Festival of Sukkot for seven days to יהוה. On the first day is a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work. For seven days you bring an offering made by fire to יהוה. On the eighth day there shall be a set-apart gathering for you, and you shall bring an offering made by fire to יהוה. It is a closing festival, you do no servile work.'"Ro'eh Richard begins the teaching today explaining to whom the authority was given to proclaim the feasts. He continues with an explanation of the text which commands the 4 species, along with how the Jews understand those species to be the specific types used in the Jewish faith and how they connect to man. Torah Portion "וילך/Vayelech" which means "And he went" delivered on September 11, 2021.This week's portion covers Deuteronomy/Devarim 31:1-30 and begins, "And Mosheh went and spoke these words to all Yisra’ĕl."Vayelach is "to go out!" Our Torah portion opens with a curious statement, a code: I am 120 years old. Pastor Richard explains why Moses would state his age. In gematria 120 represents, "I am the foundation of everything." How does this relate to the Messiah? Pastor Richard gives great insight into the significance of this statement and its connection to Luke 24:25-27.John 5:46-47 tells that Messiah is He who will adopt and bring you in. You can't enter into the Land until you are adopted because it is there where you will be presented to the KING! Each leader was given a Torah and each leader was to explain it to his tribe. The Torah is the foundation and each leader was taught how to interpret it.
