Torah Portion "'שפטים/Shoftim" which means "Judges/Right Rulers" delivered on August 14, 2021.This week's portion covers Deuteronomy/Devarim 16:18-21:9 and begins, "Appoint judges and officers within all your gates, which יהוה your Elohim is giving you, according to your tribes. And they shall judge the people with righteous right-ruling.”In this week's Torah portion Pastor Richard teaches how judges and other representatives are to be appointed by Hashem to bring judgment. Being a judge is not meant for all people. Judges are to ensure the influence of the Sanctuary and the Torah. Yeshua followed the Torah to ensure the influence of the Torah. In Matthew 21:1-2 Yeshua taught about the seat of Moses. Shoftim is “to judge, to decide, to establish and to ordain.” This required reverence and respect of the judges and of the Torah, as the word of God is divine and eternal.Pastor Richard teaches about how being angry is considered murder. Torah Portion "דברים/Devarim" which means "Words," delivered on July 17, 2021.This week's portion covers Deuteronomy/Devarim 1:1-3:22, and begins, "These are the words which Mosheh spoke to all Yisra’ĕl beyond the Yardĕn in the wilderness, in the desert plain opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, and Laḇan, and Ḥatsĕroth, and Di Zahaḇ," Deuteronomy is often called the book of repetition but it's also known as Moshe's last will and testament. The teaching today addresses the second generation of Israelites and Moshe warns of potential sin. He tells them to rise to their calling.Pastor Richard explains that before they cross over the Jordan to enter the promised land, they are to cast away the sins from this side of the Jordan. They do this through Torah teaching. They are not to act conceited, they are to lower themselves in order to lower their pride.He also shows that passing over and going into the promised land is not an end to their exile. The crossing over is temporary. Pastor Richard gives an important message about understanding the promise given to Abraham and how this Torah portion explains about the stars and the numerous numbers. Great study, shalom!This week our Haftorah teaching is delivered by Ro'ah Alpha from Isaiah 1:1-27, and the New Covenant teaching is delivered by Brother Mark from John 15:1-11.We hope and pray that you find blessing in our teachings. Torah Portion "פינחס/Pinchas" which means "Mouth of Brass" delivered on July 3, 2021.This week's portion covers Numbers/Bemidbar 25:10-30:1 and begins, "And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, “Pineḥas, son of El‛azar, son of Aharon the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Yisra’ĕl, because he was ardent with My ardour in their midst, so that I did not consume the children of Yisra’ĕl in My ardour."In this week's Torah portion we learn about Pinchas, Zimri and Cosbi. We are also taught about zeal for HaShem. Pinchas proved his zeal by defending HaShem's authority and doing what HaShem had commanded to be done. Pinchas proved that zeal without Torah would be self zeal and therefore be encroachment. His zeal for doing HaShem's commandment could have cost him his life.Pastor Richard shows HaShem's jealousy and His righteous judgment. He also teaches about how our Messiah shows this same jealousy and righteous judgment in Mark 11:15-18...Messiah shows that the Temple must be treated with reverence.Pastor Richard also shows how Pinchas was given the covenant of peace because he acted upon the divine judgment of HaShem.Pastor Richard shows that when we destroy the authority that binds us to chaos, we can find shalom. I pray this Torah portion will bring you this shalom!This week our Haftorah teaching is delivered by Ro'ah Alpha from 1 Kings 18:46-19:21, and the New Covenant teaching is delivered by Brother Mark from Acts 2:1-21.We hope and pray that you find blessing in our teachings.
