Sermon Notes
1. Not everyone at a celebration is happy.
Matthew 26: 19-22
Deut 32:39
2. Not everyone who cries wishes they were somewhere else.
Matthew 27:55-56
"Our sorrows are all, like ourselves, mortal. There are no immortal
sorrows for immortal souls. They come, but blessed be God, they
also go. Like birds of the air, they fly over our heads. But they
cannot make their abode in our souls. We suffer today, but we
shall rejoice tomorrow." - Charles Spurgeon
3. Not everyone who worries will have a lack of joy.
Mattew 28: 1-9
Eccl 1:18
"Joy is distinctly a Christian word and a Christian thing. It is the
reverse of happiness. Happiness is the result of what happens of
an agreeable sort. Joy has its springs deep down inside. And that
spring never runs dry, no matter what happens. Only Jesus gives
that joy. He had joy, singing its music within, even under the
shadow of the cross." - S.D. Gordon
Heb 2:12
