As we look towards Pentecost Sunday and the beginning of our PNEUMA series, we first must see the Holy Spirit as the more than miracles, signs and wonders. At the C3 NYC Staff Meeting ,lead Pastor Josh Kelsey preached on the Spirit of Wisdom. The Holy Spirit invites us to remain humble and teachable as we continue to approach God as life-long learners and leaders who long to see the Spirit's fruit in our lives.
Our first calling is to be a witness of what God's done. This Sunday, in the finale of our King series, lead Pastor Josh Kelsey preached from Acts 1:8 on being witnesses. From the overflow of his love, even in trials and struggles, we testify to the world.
Jesus tells us what his cause is: to bring the kingdom of God to earth. The kingdom of God is not like this world. It is not just something to gloss over. Jesus declared that the Kingdom of God is at hand and reveals his kingdom of reversal in the Beatitudes. The same way every king has a way of ruling that is unique to them, so it is with God and the way he has called us to live. This Sunday, Pastor Jon unpacks the Beatitudes as we learn what Jesus' ministry was and is for us today.
We all face moments or even seasons of discouragement, but how do you recapture a proper perspective? Looking at 1 Samuel 30:6, lead Pastor Josh Kelsey shares part two of a message on being spiritually formed by encouraging yourself in the Lord.
What if we realize that the challenges we are facing is Jesus trying to get our attention? That is the story of the road to Emmaus. The issue was not that they men on the road to Emmaus did not believe. The issue is they were believing the wrong story. In this message, Lead Pastor Josh Kelsey gives us four points on how believing the right narrative about Jesus transforms our hope and faith in God.
Lead pastor Josh Kelsey preaches from 1 Samuel 30 where David encourages himself in the Lord. They key to your leadership is self-leadership, learning to take every thought captive and renewing not just your mind but your self-talk.
In Christ, through the reality of the cross and empty grave, we have an inheritance in the Kingdom of God. Knowing that we have an inheritance changes the way we live. Pastor Jon Laurenzo preaches in our King series that our true inheritance is that we have resurrection power in both this life and the next.
In Eastertide, we reflect on the 40 days that the resurrected Christ appeared to his disciples and followers. In this time, he gave the Great Commission, which shapes our calling as believers today. In staff meeting, lead pastor Josh Kelsey shared on the power of these forty days in establishing Jesus' resurrection and how the way we make disciples today should be fully immersed in the love of the Trinity.
