  • S3E33: Gameweek 29 Preview 22/23

Welcome back after the international break to the FPL Lounge for the GW29 Preview - a double gameweek for 12 teams.

The lads review the recent managerial changes in the Premier league, with Chris dropping a lovely Roy Hodgson-anecdote, before getting down to the real business of GW29 - all those doubles and how to play your chips!

A busy radar sees some additions with good fixtures now and into the future, with some hesitation places around a scheduled blank for GW32. The lads find something to swim against this week (or is it just an excuse to have a Harry Kane love-in?) before assessing the GWs captaincy options and being careful not to sleep in single GWers. They end, as ever, with a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E32: Gameweek 28 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge for the GW28 Preview - a blank gameweek for 6 teams.

The talking points dominated by the blank this week - free hit, wildcard, or can you muddle through without a chip?

The radar sees some previous fringe assets make their way forward - with one even making it all the way to the centre. Chelsea players get a look in plus a few punts to consider if you are on of those on Free Hit.

Again the blanks influencing the transfers in and out so no tides to swim against - bring out the honey bebe! The lads lay out some honey traps (FPL related things they think might happen). Many captaincy options this week with some of the regulars not playing and the lads take a look through a fair few. They end, as ever, with a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E31: Gameweek 27 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge! It's GW27 Preview time.

A double for four teams lets the lads discuss the best way to optimise this GW, and they even have a quick chat about bench boosting in GW27. The radar has a familiar face in its centre, but additions to the mid-range and fringe will give listeners plentyt o think about ahead of the deadline.

No tide to swim against again this week, so the lads show each other the (Cypriot) honey in their Caught in the Honey Trap segment, before finishing as always with captaincy and a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E30: Gameweek 26 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge! It's GW26 Preview time.

With the conclusion of the FA Cup 5th round (and a huge FPL Lounge shout out to Grimsby Town), we've a lot more clarity on upcoming Blank GWs. The lads run through the reduced no. of BGW28 fixtures, resulting in a likely smaller BGW32 and therefore smaller DGW34 and DGW37 than perhaps first thought. The impact that has on strategy is discussed, with the Bench Boost chip now having an obvious home, but with decisions still to be made on Free Hit and the final Wildcard if you still possess them.

The radar is almost entirely new, focusing on the Brentford and Brighton assets with multiple DGWs on the horizon, but with additional mentions of a forward in red hot form and a defenders whose team have improving underlying defensive numbers.

No tide to swim against this week, so the lads show each other the honey in their Caught in the Honey Trap segment, before finishing as always with captaincy and  a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E29: Gameweek 25 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge for the GW25 Preview.

A strange occurrence with a blank and double gameweek all in one, with another large double announced this week for Gameweek 29. Lots of complications, lots of ifs and buts, but the lads do their best to lay out the current thinking...

The radar is heavily influenced by doubling teams with one or two old favourites from last season starting to creep their way into the thinking too.

An UNPRECEDENTED swimming against the tide for the lads this week with 2 traps to avoid precedes an interesting captaincy conundrum in which the greatness of Haaland comes up against some high ceiling doublers. And they end, as ever, with a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E28: Gameweek 24 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge for the GW24 Preview.

No blanks or doubles makes for a boring Gameweek at this stage of the season, right? There's certainly an argument for that this week, with GW24 feeling like the calm before the storm, with doubles and blanks scheduled in four of the next five Gameweeks. The lads therefore have a quick discussion on strategy, surmising that it's okay not to have a clear idea just yet, but managers will likely need a plan soon in order to capitalise.

The radar also has a slightly dull feel to it, with many players remaining on from last week, although the lads do run the rule over Liverpool assets ahead of their upcoming double - but with Newcastle this week, maybe GW24 is not the time to make a move.

They have swim against a tide with a player with great underlying numbers, but blank GWs on the horizon, before finishing with an assessment of the rotation concerns for the standout captaincy options and a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E27: Gameweek 23 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge for the GW23 Preview.

It's another DGW, this time for the teams placed 1st and 2nd in the league. The lads update listeners on future DGW plans, primarily for GW25, before switching to a DGW-dominated radar. Arsenal and Man City feature heavily, but which assets are the lads more keen on? And will they ever shut up about Nketiah?

They have a very reluctant swim against a tide, with a player they like just not having the fixtures to warrant a transfer, before finishing with their second lengthy captaincy discussion in 2 GWs (including assessing using the triple captain chip) and a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E26: Gameweek 22 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge for the GW22 Preview.

It's a DGW for Andy's beloved Man United, as well as Leeds, so the lads run through some strategy and extra info on upcoming doubles and blanks. They also assess some of the business done as the transfer window SLAMS shut.

Are you READY? EDDIE? GO! The lads fill the centre of their radar with an Arsenal forward with better underlying numbers than Haaland since the World Cup, while also including a DGW22 option and a City midfielder in a rich vein of form on the mid-range.

The lads swim against a midfielder being transferred out en masse despite strong underlying numbers, before finishing with a lengthy captaincy discussion (including assessing using the triple captain chip) and a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E25: Gameweek 21 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge for the GW21 Preview.

It's a similarly empty centre of the GW21 radar as it was in GW20, although there's some movement, with Brighton assets moving ever-closer to the centre, another mention for Harry Kane, and a look at the league leader's defence.

The lads will surprise many long-time listeners with what they choose to swim against the tide with this week, before finishing with a captaincy discussion and a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!

  • S3E24: Gameweek 20 Preview 22/23

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge! We're back after an FA Cup break, to preview GW19 - a double for 4 teams.

No-one occupies the centre of the lad's radar this GW, although one is very unlucky to miss out. The radar also features a focus on some doubles, a budget midfielder and some interesting changes in underlying numbers for two lowly Premier League teams.

The lads return to swim against the tide after taking a break from the ocean recently, before having perhaps the most in-depth captaincy chat of the season before finishing, as ever, with a little game they like to call Who The Heck Is Stat?!
