French workers have entered a new phase of struggle sparked by President Macron's proposed cuts to the current pension and welfare system. Massive street protests and strikes have taken place as the gilet jaunes (yellow vests) join rail workers, teachers, and other unionists in actions that have continued for fifteen days.
