Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - AM
    Date: 3/25/2018
    Bible: Titus 1:5
    Length: 44 min.

Overview: Elders. Why do we need them- In this sermon, Doctor Pollock's aims are---- that we would all be convinced that an election is God's will for the church--- that we will see the benefit of elders--- that we would appreciate the importance of elders--- that we would give it much thought and prayer----To achieve these aims, we will look at 7 foundational principles-----1. The principle of authority in God's created world--There are various spheres of authority in the world. We have humans over animals, parents over children, husbands over wives, employers over employees. This pattern is then present in the church with elders over the congregation.----2. The principle of accountability in God's people--It is the duty of God's people to be accountable to God's authority. God places his authority in the appointment of elders.----3. The principle of the security of God's people--God appoints shepherds, or elders, for His flock, the congregation to protect God's people from evil influences in the church.----4. The principle of responsibility of God's leaders--Elders have a responsibility in their role. They must have good and godly qualities ad they must rightly care for God's people.----5. The principle of the plurality of God's leaders--There are multiple leaders of God's church.----6. The principle of parity of God's leaders--The elders are equal with the other elders. There is no hierarchy in the church.----7. The principle of the quality of God's leaders--How we proceed in appointing elders can differ. But one thing is absolutely clear. Those who are selected must be qualified. These qualifications are less about gift, and more about character.

Overview: In this message, we look again at the subject of the conflict in the life of a believer. This conflict comes from sin and the believer's desire to do good.----1. The experience of the conflict--This experience in the life of a believer may be painful, but it is beneficial.----2. The explanation of the conflict--We experience this conflict---- because sin remains as long as we remain on earth--- because the principle of sin opposes the principle of holiness

  • Resurrection and the Christian
A new MP3 sermon from Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern is now available on SermonAudio.com with the following details:

    Title: Resurrection and the Christian
    Speaker: Peter Banfe
Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - AM
    Date: 4/1/2018
    Bible: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
    Length: 39 min.

Overview: We live in a day where many people have false opinions concerning what it means to be a Christian. To find out what a Christian is, we need go to the Bible. The Bible tells us what it means to be a Christian. In 1 Corinthians 15-1-4, we find what the early church said about what it means to be a Christian. The true Christian believes that Christ rose from the dead. If you deny what it in this early creed of the Christian church, you cannot be a Christian. In this message, we examine the resurrection that the true Christian believes----1. The fact of the resurrection--- Jesus really died--- The tomb was really empty--- Jesus really appeared to people----2. The meaning of the resurrection--What does it mean---- It means that Jesus was right--- It means that Christianity is true--- It means that the penalty for sin was paid--- It gives hope in death----3. The demand from the resurrection--- You cannot remain neutral concerning Christ--- If he is Lord, you must bow before him--- What will you do with Christ-

  • Jesus Loves Me
A new MP3 sermon from Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern is now available on SermonAudio.com with the following details:

    Title: Jesus Loves Me
    Speaker: Peter Banfe
Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - PM
    Date: 4/1/2018
    Bible: Hosea 3
    Length: 40 min.

Overview: -Jesus loves me. This I know. For the Bible tells me so.- These words have become cheap in this world because people do not know the weight of sin nor do they understand what love is. What does it truly mean that Jesus loves me- A picture of God's love can be seen in Hosea's love for Gomer. God told Hosea to go marry and love an adulteress, named Gomer, despite her sin. This would be a representation of God's love towards the children of Israel. The Israelites had committed adultery against God but God loved them despite this. This is true love.----1. The marriage--Just as Hosea married and loved Gomer, God married and loves us.----2. The adultery--Just like Gomer, we, being sinners, fall away from God and commit adultery to Him.----2. The reconciliation--As Hosea went and found Gomer again, God out of his love goes again to His people and pulls them out of their sin.

  • Selection of Elders
A new MP3 sermon from Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern is now available on SermonAudio.com with the following details:

    Title: Selection of Elders
    Subtitle: Elders
    Speaker: Dr. Stephen Pollock
Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - AM
    Date: 4/8/2018
    Bible: 1 Timothy 3
    Length: 46 min.

Overview: Who are we to select as elders-----We must select men who are eligible, willing, qualified, and able----1. We are to select men--This does to mean men are superior to women. This is about God's sovereignty to establish his church as he sees fit. It is not for us to reverse the ways of God. There is a pattern of male leadership in OT. Those who served Christ as apostles were male. The elder is to be the husband of one wife. That has to be a male.----2. We are to select eligible men--In the book of order there are some eligibility requirements to be an elder like needing to be in the church for a year and refraining from alcohol. There are some common sense measures we take. Eligibility does not mean you need to be a deacon first.----3. We are to select men who are willing--The text speaks of desire. Men are not obligated to do it. There is a willingness to do it. The Spirit works in men to give them a compulsion to serve.----4. We are to select men who are qualified----We will come back to the remaining two points in the following message----5. We are to select men who are able

  • A Picture Of Romans 7
A new MP3 sermon from Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern is now available on SermonAudio.com with the following details:

Title: A Picture Of Romans 7
    Subtitle: The Book of Romans
    Speaker: Dr. Stephen Pollock
Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - PM
    Date: 4/8/2018
    Bible: Romans 7; Genesis 19:1-22
    Length: 40 min.

Overview: In this message, Lot clearly portrays the struggle of sin the in life of a believer in Romans 7.----1. The man that was converted--Lot was a just and righteous man and God had saved his soul. He was a godly man and not walking after the flesh.----2. The mixture that is confusing--In the events of this story we see grace mixed with sin.--- the events in and around the house--Lot shows grace as he shows hospitality, but then we see sin when Lot offered his family to be used for wicked things so that the angels would be protected.--- the events as they depart the city--Lot's faith is shown when he pleads with his family to leave the city when God says he will destroy it.--- the events as they were on the run--Prayer and humble reverence are seen in Lot, but he still has fears that following God's command will bring him danger.--Therefore, we see that though Lot is a saved man, he is not the complete package yet. He still has sin in his life.----3. The mercy that is comforting--Even though Lot sins and has doubt, God has mercy and brings him to a place of safety.
