  • Your Grind Decade | Rick Jordan

I was filming a TV show called Two-Minute Drill with David Meltzer last week. Pitch show format like Shark Tank but for pitching not funding. I was a guest judge alongside pro athletes and celebrities. One of them was Austin Eckler. Running back for the Los Angeles Chargers. And this dude's intensity blew me away. Austin's face was frozen in concentration the entire time. So intently listening to every pitch that they had to do reaction shots of him after because his expression never changed. You could see how he plays football just by watching him judge these pitches. That devotion to the moment. That intensity. It was insane to witness. After we wrapped Austin comes up to me. Starts asking about my life. Kids. Business. Sports. Then he hits me with this question. What's your biggest financial tip for me. I'm like excuse me. Here's a dude making millions of dollars a year in the NFL asking me for financial advice. And I found out he's only 27 years old. What really struck me was when Austin said he loves getting around people who are older than him. One generation above. Because of the wisdom that takes place. And I truly believe wisdom doesn't actually start until you get into your 40s. I wasn't wise in my 20s. Wasn't wise in my 30s. But now in my young 40s I'm starting to see things differently. There's no rush to figure it all out if you're in your 20s or early 30s. Society puts pressure on you but get around people one generation above you. Let their wisdom accelerate your journey. Austin asking me for advice reminded me how powerful that generational wisdom exchange can be.

  • Synthetic Data, Real Protection | Shayra Melo

This conversation blew me away. Shyra Melo is 27 years old. First generation Colombian-American. And tomorrow she's ringing the bell at the Chicago Board of Trade as part of a company going public. But here's the kicker. Six years ago she was just a 21-year-old who heard about this Bitcoin thing on the news and decided to invest. Shyra's journey started when she kept hearing about Bitcoin everywhere. Financial advisors were telling her it would never grow. She decided to ignore them and invest anyway. That curiosity about crypto led her deeper into blockchain technology. She started understanding the real value wasn't in the coins but in the underlying tech. The chains. The propositions. The actual problems they were solving. Then she met Jason Melo. Her now husband and CTO who founded Paxo. She had a vision for privacy solutions on blockchain. He was working at a unicorn company and wasn't sure about leaving for another startup. But the vision was there. They saw the opportunity to create something different. Privacy vaults on blockchain that separate identifiable information from data analysis. Her family immigrated from Colombia. Her grandmother came first out of love. Then brought the daughters over. Including Shyra's mom who became a homeowner on her own. Powerful women showing what's possible. Now Shyra's a woman in tech at 27 years old building privacy solutions that keep kids safe. That's the American dream right there. This episode is about curiosity leading to opportunity. About mentally stepping into where you know you're going before you get there. About the difference between professionals and facade. And about how six years of consistent vision and execution can take you from Bitcoin beginner to public company executive.

  • What You Look For Is What You Find | Rick Jordan

You know those people who are always looking for trouble. Always finding bad relationships. Can't hold a job. Seem to repeat the same terrible patterns week after week month after month year after year. Maybe that's you right now. Maybe you're thinking you can't find the right job. Can't find a good relationship. Wondering why all the good people are taken. Here's what's really happening. You've trained your brain in a negative way to go looking for these things. Maybe it's based on trauma. Maybe it's from one bad experience that convinced you all experiences in that situation will be the same. Maybe you just had some bad luck a couple times and now you think that's how life works. You've created this story. Playing this movie in your mind where you already know the ending. Your thoughts train your brain to see what you want to see in your life. When you create space to think about the right outcomes over and over your brain starts influencing your actions. That's intention. You have to create this space to continually train your brain. For me it's working out four to five times a week. Thinking about that outcome every single time. Your life might not be stupid if you look for things that aren't stupid. Think about one outcome right now. Keep thinking about it in whatever space you create for yourself. Think about it over and over and over again. Train your brain. Influence your actions. That's how you break the pattern.

  • A Cowgirl from Colorado | Cheryl Hunter

This conversation shook me. Cheryl Hunter is a cowgirl from Colorado who was kidnapped as a teenager. Instead of letting that trauma define her she turned it into her mission. Now she's a four-time TED talk speaker who helps mission-driven experts gain audiences of millions through major media. But her journey to get there is what will blow your mind. After being abducted Cheryl spent over a decade hiding what happened to her. Pretending it never occurred. When she told her mom she was depressed her mom said go help someone who has it worse than you. So Cheryl started volunteering at elder care facilities. She met Holocaust survivors. War veterans. People who had been through unthinkable adversity. Some were hardened for life. Others lived happy productive lives. She started breaking down what worked and what didn't. Created a framework for overcoming adversity. The first time she shared her story publicly was terrifying. She worried people would see how dirty and ruined she was. Worried they'd ask why she didn't stay to get her attackers put in jail instead of running for her life. But she realized she could be the voice for people who felt too weak too ruined to stand up for themselves. She could show what's possible on the other side of trauma. This episode is about turning your biggest pain into your greatest purpose. About understanding that if you've got something on your heart that you want to share you have within you what it takes to fulfill it. And about recognizing that the moment we say yes to what's on our path it reveals its gifts to us.

  • The Walt Disney Formula | Rick Jordan

I've got Walt Disney's stock certificate hanging on my wall in my office. One share. Beautiful certificate with all the characters and Walt right in the middle. But it's not there because I'm a Disney fanboy. It's there because of the quote at the bottom. My favorite quote in the world. "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." This is where we all get stuck. Not even kidding. The getting started part. I was speaking to over a hundred chiropractors last week. One woman had just spoken at Funnel Hacking Live in front of 5,000 people. Invited by Russell Brunson himself. And she's telling me she feels stuck. Doesn't know her next steps. I'm like you just spoke at FHL and you think you're stuck. Open your eyes. But here's the thing. People can plan. Even worse people can over plan. You listening right now can over plan things. And you do it every damn day. You overthink stuff. You over plan stuff and it keeps you from moving forward. Whether it's implementing something new at your business or starting something with your kids. All this overplanning keeps you stuck. Dreams are made from actions not excuses. What will you do when all your excuses run out. Because they will. Your excuses only matter for a short moment. That negative self-talk about why you can't start right now. That excuse is going to run out because you'll look around and realize it doesn't work anymore. Now you have to make up something new.

  • Your Words Create Your World | Darren Jacklin

This conversation blew me away. My friend and mentor Darren Jacklin was back in the studio. And this dude has lived a life that most people wouldn't believe. Homeless. On welfare. R9 credit rating which is the worst you can get. Special education from grade 1 to grade 12. Never went to college or university. Most people would have bet against him ever amounting to anything. Fast forward to today. Multi-millionaire. Has rung the closing bell at NASDAQ three times. Independent director at EXP Realty with 90,000 agents. Taking another company public this week. And he's got over 7,000 written documented goals with a target to hit 10,000. But the most incredible part isn't the business success. It's the personal transformation. We talked about personal promises versus goals. How he doesn't manage people but manages people's promises. Why all we are as human beings is a network of conversations. And how strangers have everything you want, need and desire in your life. The key is making requests and keeping promises. This episode is about stopping the lies you tell yourself. Making personal promises instead of setting goals. Understanding that proximity is power and curiosity kills ego. Most importantly it's about recognizing that we don't have money problems in life. We only have thinking problems.

    About Darren:

Darren Jacklin grew up in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada. At the formative age of one, his four-year-old sister died from complications due to open-heart surgery. This greatly impacted his family. From an early age, Darren had difficulty reading and writing and was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. This resulted in him being put on Ritalin. He then failed and repeated grade one. Darren was then enrolled in a special education class for the rest of his educational years.

Throughout public school, Darren had difficulty focusing on school and making friends. His parents were told that he would not amount to much in life.

At the age of seven, he started a business called “Rent a Kid”. His business included shoveling snow off sidewalks, mowing lawns, and delivering the Regina Leader-Post six days a week. His need for external approval and validation were his driving force.

In school, Darren felt awkward and invisible. In grade eleven, after his parents’ divorce, a high school teacher and guidance counselor sat him down one afternoon. He was told that based on his academic achievement, he probably would not go very far in life, or amount to much. Not only did this further damage his self-confidence, but it also triggered a relentless drive to prove everyone wrong. For years following that conversation, Darren did whatever he could to be liked, loved, accepted, and understood. Following High School, he tried multiple suicide attempts, including driving his car at 140-km / 85-mph into a telephone pole. Darren was also a passenger in a car that went out of control on an icy hill and rolled over a forty-foot embankment. He was ejected through the windshield of the car. That day, Darren nearly lost his life. It then took him months to learn how to walk again.

In his early twenties, he received a settlement from this car accident. Combining this with his income from his “Rent a Kid” business and a few other business ventures throughout his adolescence, Darren unwittingly signed for loans and lines of credit with unscrupulous investors. Lawyers and collection agencies were now harassing him. His car was repossessed, bank accounts frozen, water and electricity were disconnected, and he was evicted from his apartment. Within four months he was broke and homeless.

Hitting rock bottom, he was forced to collect welfare, living on the streets, and sleeping in an apple orchard.

  • Get Out of Your Own Head | Rick Jordan

Some truths hit differently. These four will change your life. Get you unstuck. Help you bring closure to scenarios that have been eating at you. And get you out of your own head once and for all. How do you break out of that? Make a choice. Do something different. Instead of blaming that person, choose to change whatever you have power over. Take back that power. When you take action. When you change behaviors. You are no longer a victim. These truths should hit hard because they will change your life. Listen to this again and again. At least three more times. Watch the amazing weight be lifted off you.

  • The Oldest Brother Who Found His Own Lane | JR Butler

This conversation hit different. JR Butler went from Division I hockey at Holy Cross to building a company that got acquired by IBM for $2 billion. But the path wasn't straight. And it definitely wasn't easy. JR's story starts in a bar after a men's league hockey game. He was planning to go to law school. Study for the LSAT. Take the traditional route. Then he met a guy who owned a VAR who told him technology was the future. Guaranteed him he could make a quarter million in three years. JR said screw it. Decided to try tech sales instead of studying for the LSAT. By his third day he knew this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. But here's where it gets real. JR grew up as the oldest of three boys. All three played Division I hockey. One of his brothers was an Olympic athlete who played in the NHL. When JR asked his dad when he knew his brother Bobby would make the NHL his dad said he knew when Bobby was seven. That creates a dynamic. The naturally gifted kid gets the attention. The oldest learns to fend for himself. JR had to find his own lane. He wasn't the most talented hockey player. But he was accountable. Self-reliant. He learned to bet on himself. That translated perfectly to sales where you eat what you kill and it's 100% on you. Extreme ownership became his foundation. This episode is about finding your lane when you're not the most naturally gifted. About learning from failure. About transferring skills from one arena to another. And about building something meaningful from your own struggle.

  • Trust Is Given, Not Earned | Rick Jordan

You know that sick feeling in your gut when you're talking to someone and nothing you do feels right. You feel boxed in. Cornered. Like you're walking on eggshells constantly. That's emotional manipulation. And it's happening to you more than you think. I've been studying psychology because it ties directly into my work with insider threats and cyber security. Human behavior plays pivotal roles in everything we do. And some people use these psychological tactics to control others. Today I'm calling out four major signs of emotional manipulation so you can recognize them and fight back. Here's the reality. Once you recognize these patterns it becomes your responsibility to change them. Don't expect the manipulator to change. You have to set the boundaries. You have to say "I'm not okay with this. I prefer to talk through this. Don't hold me in my past. I'm living in the present now." And sometimes you might have to change that person completely if they won't respect your boundaries. Stop accepting emotional manipulation. You deserve better than that sick feeling in your gut. You deserve relationships where trust is given freely. Where communication happens openly. Where your past stays in the past where it belongs.

  • Real Wealth Doesn’t Need To Flex | Daniel Tolson

This conversation blew me away. Daniel Tolson is a three-time Australian wakeboarding champion who started his coaching business in his grandmother's spare bedroom. And here's the kicker. The dude doesn't even own a car. Takes yellow taxis everywhere because he'd rather spend quality time with his family than lose hours driving. We went deep on authenticity versus fake flexing. You know those coaches posting selfies in front of Lamborghinis they don't own? Daniel's the complete opposite. When he started coaching he could only afford to catch the bus. All his money went into educating himself. Retooling like any good builder would. And he was honest about it with his clients. Drove his mom's car and didn't hide it. This episode is about authenticity. Real success versus fake success. Building something meaningful instead of just looking successful. Daniel's living proof that you can impact million-dollar businesses without owning a single luxury item. Because real leaders don't need props to prove their worth.

    About Daniel:

As a child, I had Linear sequential learning disability. I was a slow learner. I had a curved spine. My hips were out of alignment. I couldn’t run. My knees would collapse when I was running. This physical defect created pressure in my head, I was losing my vision. I couldn’t think properly. I was in so much pain physically. In the end, my body collapsed under this tremendous stress, I developed chronic fatigue syndrome and contracted Epstein Barr virus and I had to drop out of school. When I recovered my uncle took me under his wing and showed me the blueprint of how to become the top 10% in real estate. I took that blueprint, overcompensated with actions, became the top 1% performer, and bought my first home at the age of 19. But I dreamt of becoming an Australian champion wakeboarder. So, I gave up the real estate career to pursue my dream. I had a lot of challenges. To overcome the fear and achieve my goal, I spent a lot of time and energy on personal development, learning how to systematically and methodically break barriers to achieve goals. Eventually, I became the Australian Wakeboarder Champion, not once, but three times. That experience of creating my breakthrough and sustaining it set me up for a series of career highs, such as co-leading 17000 cabin crews, launching my own business, and building a global business that impacts more than 15,000 business people 100X their life and income. I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way? In 2010, at the peak of my career, my wife was involved in an aircraft accident. It left her with some disabilities requiring multiple surgeries over the next 2.5 years. Eventually, she lost her job and was forced to leave the country. I left the job to join her back home to take care of her. But 10 months and 500 job applications later, I was jobless. We were living with my grandmother, depending on Australian social security payments. It was the lowest point of my life. I was desperate. And I knew if I want to be a man who provides for my family, things must change. I pulled myself together, used every tool and technology I have in my toolbox, got clarity on life, and launched my coaching business from my grandmother’s spare bedroom. I wish I could say life was happy ever after. But no, success never comes on the first attempt. Richard Branson launched 400 companies before founding Virgin galactic. Steven Spielberg was rejected by Film School 3 times. I was betrayed by a business partner. I had to move countries several times. I was broke three times in 3 different countries and had to start all over again. These experiences have become the foundation of my 100XDNA. It has 100X-ed my life.
