Alex has worked in primary schools for the last 10 years as both a classroom teacher and Behaviour Advisory Teacher where she was trained in coaching both parents and teachers in behaviour management strategies. It was through this training, some extensive research and becoming a mum herself (Abel 3 yrs and Ari 9 months) that she decided to start offering Parenting Coaching to parents with children school age and younger. This age is the biggest leap in development and if we can help children with these behaviours before they start school, we can maximise their social emotional learning outcomes as well as academic outcomes.
I was so excited to have this conversation with Alex because I know how beautifully simple and supportive her approach is. While we don’t yet have another babe on the way, it’s something we hope for in the near future, and I learned a lot that I will be able to implement when the time comes.
Whether you are introducing a second, third or fourth child (and beyond) this is a must listen for parents wanting to emotionally support their older child/children with the change in family dynamic that begins in pregnancy.
Alex is educated and practical in her approach and she completely inspired me to observe Flynn’s behaviour in a new light.
