King believes that the key to success as a consultant, fractional CFO, or virtual CFO is communicating effectively and bridging the gap between accounting principles and business owners' day-to-day decision-making. He also stresses the importance of mindset shifts, particularly around marketing and sales, and the need for accountants to embrace the opportunity to serve and teach through the sales process.
