Kristen Monaco with the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Jonathan Starks, Chief Intelligence Officer for FTR, provide information about Truck Driver Shortages and what the data tells us.

From the American Transportation Research institute’s list of Top Industry Issues, published last week, the Driver Shortage once again ranked as the industry’s top concern by more than a thousand motor carriers included in the survey. One of the chronic debates in trucking is the extent - and even the very existence - of driver shortages. Kristen Monaco, associate commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics and a leading researcher in truck driver dynamics, clarified some of the confusion surrounding driver availability just last month at the 2019 FTR Transportation Conference.
