Furtitude and Flow – Episode: (Dr. Mike Interviews Me)

In this episode, I am interviewed by Dr. Mike, where I explain the concept behind Furtitude and Flow and share the story of the person behind the podcast. We dive deeply into my experiences, reflections, and personal journey, discussing how different life events have shaped me both as a person and as the creator of this project. The conversation explores themes such as personal growth, resilience, mental and emotional processes, and how I navigate challenges to find clarity and direction. This is an honest and open discussion that gives listeners insight into both the idea and the intention behind the podcast.

I also want to thank all the guests who have been a part of the podcast, as well as all the listeners for their support. A special thanks to my good friend Mats for letting me use his house as the podcast location and for his awesome shirts. Your support and contributions help make Furtitude and Flow possible, and I’m truly grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey.

In this episode, we welcome Alexander Skadberg and award-winning journalist Tove Lie, author of the book Adopted and Abandoned. When I read the book in 2023, I had no idea that I would one day start a podcast — and even less that I would have the chance to interview both Alexander and Tove. The story touched me deeply, as we both share the experience of being adopted, growing up in Northern Norway with different skin color, and feeling like we didn’t belong, while facing adversity, psychiatry, and racism. In this episode, Alexander shares his moving and challenging life story — including child welfare, psychiatry, abuse, and family reunification — and we discuss resilience, identity, and hope.

The episode builds on Alexander Skadberg’s podcast “SISU – med Skadberg og Lie”, where “SISU” is a Finnish word representing extraordinary strength and determination — the quality that can help children and young people overcome great challenges, even when everything seems hopeless. The hosts, Alexander Skadberg, a speaker with a powerful personal story, and Tove Lie, award-winning journalist and editor, bring both insight and warmth to the conversation.

As we approach Christmas, this is a book I highly recommend.
