The Montreal Canadiens keep finding new lows to fall to this season, and this loss to the Sabres might be hard to beat.

The Montreal Canadiens continue to bleed goals against at an alarming rate, however for the first time this season they managed to score three goals in a loss... Progress?

Brendan Gallagher was clearly the best player of the night for the Habs, with linemates Jake Evans and Artturi Lehkonen lighting the lamp, but what's the plan for this group going forward?

Will Ducharme trust the kids? Mattias Norlinder is already a healthy scratch, Ben Chiarot is being used on the powerplay, what gives?

  • Game 20: MTL 6 - 3 NSH | Game Over: Montreal

Andrew Berkshire is joined by Vancouver Canucks reporter for the Athletic; Harman Dayal.

On twitter, you can follow Andrew at @AndrewBerkshire, and Harman at @harmandayal2.

The Montreal Canadiens managed to surprise everyone by blitzing the Nashville Predators to the tune of 6-3, including five straight goals to open the game.

The biggest reason they won however, was the play of Samuel Montambeault in the first period, who fended off a long series of incredible chances in a period dominated by Nashville.

In the second, the Canadiens pounced and chased Juuse Saros, but as fun as the game was, how much of a good feeling does it give the fanbase?

With the game well in hand, the team still didn't give much ice to young players like Cole Caufield, Ryan Poehling, and Mattias Norlinder. It sure seems like a wasted opportunity.

Also, we talked about officiating a lot, because it was BAD in this one.

How low can they go? The Canadiens put up a bafflingly poor performance against the Pittsburgh Penguins, with very few positives to dredge up.

Cole Caufield and Mattias Norlinder are among the few positives, but even they had some negatives to talk about as well.

The focus has to change to the future, there's only 63 games left.

The Montreal Canadiens lost yet again, and it was probably their roughest game in the last stretch as well.

There were positives to it, like the play of Jonathan Drouin and Cayden Primeau, along with the stellar territorial play of the bottom six forwards.

The panel breaks down the play of Primeau, including one save in particular, before delving into the troubling trend of P.K. Subban's slewfoots not only injuring players, but going unpunished.

The Canadiens started out strong in this one, taking it to the Bruins at even strength in the first period, but a few coaching adjustments had the Bruins dominating the second period, and they got the lucky bounces in the third that they needed to send the Canadiens packing.

The panel looks at the game from an individual player and team-wide perspective, breaking down what's keeping the Canadiens from capitalizing on their recent stretch of decent play.

Andrew Berkshire is joined by the host of every podcast you love; SDPN's own Julian McKenzie!

Tonight is the incredibly awful idea where Andrew and Julian do the Hot Ones Gauntlet!

On twitter, you can follow Andrew at @AndrewBerkshire, and Julian at @jkamckenzie.

The Montreal Canadiens lost to the Detroit Red Wings in overtime, but the biggest issue with the game was the possibility that they may have lost goaltender Jake Allen as well.

While devouring hot wings and ascending spice mountain, Andrew and Julian talk about Michael Pezzetta's shockingly strong play, and the one weakness in his game.

Was it Jeff Petry's fault the Canadiens lost? How was Sam Montambeault? Should Cayden Primeau start against the Bruins?

Most importantly of all, will Andrew and Julian complete the Hot Ones gauntlet?

The Canadiens managed to outplay the Los Angeles Kings for most of the game, battling back from a third period deficit, but ultimately they lost yet another one. They did manage to get a point by pushing the game to overtime though!

Is Ben Chiarot a better offensive defenceman than a defensive one?

Is David Savard in for a career ruining season for the Canadiens?

How long will the Canadiens wait to make a move with how badly this season has gone?

The Montreal Canadiens somehow managed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory, blowing an absolutely dominant performance and a two-goal lead in the span of a few minutes.

Jake Allen wasn't good, but frankly most of the team was. The panel sifts through the jarring results so far this season to find some positives, before tackling some tough topics within the Canadiens fanbase.
